It makes no sense. They look thicker than males and have no ridges.
Honestly,
I think the thicker midsection makes a bit more sense--or, at the very
least, the females should definitely have significantly wider hips than
the male. For pushing out them babies. Er, eggs. However turians give
birth.

Why are people so upset over this? It contradicts Garrus' statements? What you mean that one vague line when he said "if you turian I would be complementing your waist you on your fringe” ?
That could mean anything “complementing your fringe” doesn’t necessarily mean they must have a big impressive elaborate fringes. It could be any number of things that separate an unattractive fringe or waist from an attractive one and for those saying there is no fringe, she has the pates sticking up slightly that could be what is meant by “fringe”. A small fringe may be what is attractive on females by turain standards.
I can't speak for everyone, but my main beef with the lack of fringe is that the heavy, bony turian plates are an evolutionary adaptation for survival, as stated in the codex. The fact that a female (which usually have the more survival-friendly design, especially in birds) would lack one on her head, which is a very important part of her body, contradicts establish Mass Effect canon. I dunno, it just doesn't seem right.
