I like it. She has nice hips and that waist looks very ... supportive :D

Seriously, I like it. She looks very alien.

I am happy their design is not for the sole purpose of giving the average male a boner.
It's good to see some alien female aliens.

Again, as I posted on the first page, until I see a few more female turians I don't think we should call this the 'Representative of the Turian Female Gender' just yet.

After all, it'd be silly to assume they all look like this one.

This reinforces the theory that turians are based on birds. For bird species, the males are usually the ones with the showy plumage (fringe) for courtship purposes.

while it could have been worse *cough* WoW *cough* i still lol'd.

I personally would have preferred it if there was no difference between the male and female turians, then have bioware go "You guys are just racist, can't tell Turians apart, shame on you"

+1
As far as the females looking obviously different to the males I like it, it only needs a little tweaking to not go against established lore, the plates off to the side are fringe-y enough to mix with what Garrus said* but doesn't fit with asari head fringes being appealing to turians (unless that particular turian preffered other male turians?). Maybe just some more obvious flat plates on top of her head for the radiation protection purposses.

But my main grumble is I would have preffered females not look that different to the males since the ratio of male to female in turians is the same as humans it just makes you wonder where the frick they've been all this time? I'd rather think they were there the whole time and we just couldn't tell.
But if this is cannon... can we mod females into the older games? Get a patch? Something?

(Also kind of miffed there's onle 1 female in the group in the comic, you can't really use the 3d model excuse there...)
*I had a theory of female turians painting or putting carvings in their head fringes for cosmetic purposes *shrug*

Personaly I would be more happy if they introduced them in the game rather than poorly drawn comic...

O..o

Feeling ambivalent on this. On one hand I can see a more delicate facial structure that would indicate feminine features, on the other-WHERE'S HER FRINGE?

I'm not bothered by it really. I like that it's different from normal ideas of beauty.

That said the first picture just looks kind of odd, but the second one looks totally fine to me.

Although am I the only one that noticed that they're all barefaced? That stood out to me more than anything else. Their faces look so blank without any paint on them.

EDIT: Also their mandible look strange although I think that's just a DH thing.  Also their eyes are.. larger or something.  In that second pic her eyes are entirely blue whic is really weird compared to all the turians we've seen so far.

come to think of it... I can't remember the comics ever having any turians with markings which I had previously put down the lazyness on the artists part since there weren't any main character turians in the previous comics.

I think most people are responding to the fact that fringes were mentioned in ME2 twice not that she doesn't look like hawt female human. I think a shorter fringe instead of no fringe would look better but the rest of the design I'm very happy with. I'm glad (so far) that female turian...

1. Has no boobs

2. Has a supportive waist (LOL)

3. Has smaller mandibles

4. Did I mention no boobs?

5: Looks alien. I'm glad that they had to think outside the box without resorting to human anatomy to show gender difference

6. Wasn't designed to be boner inducing for a change

7. Has a different coller shape

If it turns out they are officially bald then that's fine since the rest of it is how a female turian should look.

What the heck.. there's no femininity to distinguish that turian as a female none whatsoever. Just looks like a male turian with a war injury. Either dark horse were ordered to act on their imagination or this is the description Bioware gave them.. which depresses the hell out of me.

Only difference between is that male Turain has longer... hmh... "hair".

That's incredibly lazy, looks horrible and unbelievable!

Thats what I thought too.

OTOH, if Turian females are ever recruitable in ME3, they should be romancable.   Then we can tell who are the ones with weird fetish or the ones who will romance the character based on the personality rather than familiarity to a human female.

How do you define turian feminity?   Gender cues can vary according to cultures let alone different species that developed on different planets.  The difference could be how they perceive each other, pheromones, light spectrum, pitch in micro decibels etc etc... use your imagination.

A turian can probably tell the difference between a male and female but a human probably can't tell the difference between a male or female turian.

thank you, I needed that after some of the 'OMG not feminine!' comments.
Whatever problems the design does/does not have lack of current, western, human standards of gender isn't one of them.

I would really like if the females had longer "hair" or whatever is the word for the things that come out of Garrus's head.

There should be more indication of feminity other than being stated as such, is all I'm saying.

Define "Femininity"? Do you mean "look like a female human looks"? Because there are a huge range of potential ways that sexual dimorphism can manifest. In many species, dogs/cats for instance, you usually can't even tell them apart without checking their sex organs.

I don't care if they look like males honestly as long as they stay true to the codex...where is her fringe?

Comic art suffers lack of details, but other than that, it seem to be a fair concept. I guess I'm ok with that same as I was okay with Charr in GW2.
