DLC activation and saves

I would like to ask for the clarification of the following rumor. During the discussion of one of the reviews it was stated that after downloading the DLC the author was unable to load his saved game without an internet connection.
So, the question is:
I am downloading the DLC from within the game and authenticating this DLC. I am saving a game after using that downloadable content. Do I need an internet connection to check the authentication of DLC to load that saved game?
I have not found such topic on the last 10 pages, so I hope this topic will be useful.
And I want to apologize for my not so good english.

If you are trying to get to a DLC area or loading a saved game that had DLC active at the time, and it is asking you to login (or activate) then my guess is that you logged in with a different account than what you originally grabbed the DLC with, so it is asking for you to confirm that this new account is also an owner of this DLC before proceeding.

Where do we download our DLC from? I've still been unable to find a list or page somewhere to see what DLC or promotional knick-knacks I'm entitled to.
You always download the DLC from within the game itself. Just log in with your account - the one you redeemed the codes with, or purchased DLC with, or uploaded your character creator char with, or played Journeys with (which is likely the account you use here on social, but may not be if you have multiple accts).
There are some walkthrough docs with screenshots that will be posted on the add-ons page (http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/) soon for how to get DLC, and redeem codes on any platform.
And we're still working on showing the list of content you have here on social, although that may be shortly after launch however.

No. The issue is only in changing the active account/player just before doing that. As long as you keep playing with the same account (even if you are logged out), it'll work fine and not ask you to login at all.Joz8 wrote...
So you had to login to load a saved game. Is it possible then for a game to stay logged in even after exiting(or loosing connection) or you should relogin for DLC-dependent save?
Correct. Having it account based means you can play it anywhere. And it'll still be there waiting for you if you reinstall the game, or get a new PC down the road.hotcoffeeburns wrote...
Alright, so the DLC is linked to the account, not the computer? So I can have it on my desktop and laptop just fine then?

Then how will I download seperate installers for save at a later date, long after the download servers may have gone down? I.e. how do I backup DLC?

Not a good marketing decision. What about several years from now when people want to go back and play that old classic Dragon age: Origins, but they can't because the authentication server has been down for 6 years?
We have a pretty good track record for supporting our games, and a little time to figure that one out
I'm not making fun of the issue - it is something we are working to find a solution for. But the truth is that for now, this works as you would expect with any other game's DLC... as that is the nature of DLC. It is dependent on a downloadable/online/server being there system.
I'll confirm, as you may be able to do backups of the files as is, but regardless you would still need to go online to activate it later on or on another PC, so it doesn't completely answer your question.
