I've never understood how DLC's work. You play them before you beat the game right? Are they coherent with the relevant storyline in the game?

when the night is pierced by a lone wolf's cry.
Only then should you venture into the lair
to battle for love, or friendship, or...Nair?

Seriously, though, ME2 is neat in the fact that it allows you to play DLC after the game is over (assuming Commander Shepard survived). Play it whenever your little heart desires.

First time through I played it after beating ME2; on my next play-through I played it as soon as it was available....I wanted to get the daily deliveries from "the Lair" and get a little love from Liara (she was my love interest in this ME1 profile). I did notice that after my "rekindling" with Liara, I no longer have a romance option with Miranda.
you can still hook up with someone after liara.
my canon playthru had me banging jack, kissing miranda, and then getting with tali and liara.

Does anyone know what specifically are the dialog differences between doing it before the suicide mission and doing it after?

I've been thinking the same thing myself, as I'm currently doing final playthroughs in preparation for ME3 and wondering when it's best from a story standpoint to take on the Shadow Broker.

Its not thaaat different. One or two phrases are changed.
Can't be precise here but its something on the conversation between Liara and Shepard on the Normandy being one or two lines directed to the collectors outcome and one for the romance.
I think thats it. The "variables" would be:
Romance active (dunno the outcomes if you're loyal to Liara or VS)
Suicide mission completed

Ah, thanks. So more like extra dialog referencing the Collector defeat then.

Wouldn't it be best to play it w before the suicide mission, that way you can acquire all the resources, creds and upgrades?
Yes, but some people feel it fits in better post suicide mission in regards to the storyline. Me personally, I do it as soon as its available.
