There are two places where you can change party members in the tower. Once is in the room where you have your Fade encounter with the Sloth Demon. The other is in the room with the apprentices and if you are going to do the Winterguard Reaching Quest (the distraction demon), then I THINK you can reenter the room with the apprentices and use the party-swap button to swap out Wynne then and there. Of course this means she will show up again in your camp.....

Kill her. Let Morrigan help.
And miss out on her Awakening quest, where we learn from Ines that Wynne probably caused Uldred's descent into madness with her nagging and how the fade shines out of her bum?

Reactivate the circle-bloodmage triggers. That way you can kill her and get her awakening quest (if you are a bloodmage). Of course that means you had to take her with you during the entire tower......

Ironically, the Uldred fight is the one I actually find her useful in as she tells you when to use the Litany of Adralla.
As with most of Wynne's advice, it is utterly unneccesary given the game makes it obvious to use it with the huge flashing circles and all.
I take out the haughty wench 99% times when she's doen threatening me and denigrating my companions.

You can switch her out after you defeat the Sloth demon. Until then, she's in your party.
That's the friggin problem. I like the Fade. I hate having to bring Wynne to see her stupid dream playthrough after playthrough.
C'mon, I wanna see my other companion's nightmares, ffs!

I got so tired of her unending moralizing that I finally killed her in the Tower on about the 6th playthrough. But I missed her skills. Ughh. So now I only kill her when I am playing a mage.
I know ... I'm a bad bad person.

Hi there. I'm a newbie to the forum and this is my first post. I've been lurking a bit over the past few weeks but just had to respond to this. I TOTALLY agree that wynne is haughty. My personal least favorite moments are when she tells the sloth demon that "we" found each other in the fade or when she tells Irving that she "didn't do it alone". C'mon!!! Last time I checked she was totally ineffective in the fade realm and would have been stuck in her sad little dream forever if my warden hadn't come along to bail her out ... Morrigan obviously has much more willpower and self awareness. And what is with her ... "I had help" moment with Irving? Really? Take others credit much?

She is annoying.
Especially if you have a Mage PC.
I may take her with me when I destroy the urn so I can kill her.
She preaches about my relationships, she preaches about being a Grey Warden, she is so annoying.
She even preaches in her nightmare! Were were you when this was going on....... WTF!
And the I had help line, that is sickening.
She is the only person I feel no guilt about being rude to.
If it were not for her skills I would kill her at the first oppertunity.
She usualy leaves because I always destroy the urn of sacred ashes.

Zevran: What is this? Some ridiculous ploy to get me to let my guard down?
Alistair: Can't... keep... eyes open. Someone... pinch... me.
Leliana: I'll not listen to your lies demon. You have no... power over me...
Morrigan: This is ridiculous. You can't expect me to rest on a floor sticky with blood...
Sten: We must stand... and fight...
Wynne: Resist, you must resist, else we are all lost.

This also brings up one of the problems I have with DAO: You're given only two mages, and both are extremely high maintainence, making it hard to play as a morally grey character (note I said grey, not KILL! MAIM! BURN!) and not offend both of them.

Just a quick question...if you choose to save the mages (or side with Greagoir after saving them), does the game force you to take Wynne along? I'm planning to defile the Urn of Sacred Ashes and I see no point in taking a character who will turn on you in that situation (I find it odd that Leliana is more religious than Wynne, yet Wynne is the one that ALWAYS turns on you for defiling the ashes).

If you didn't kill her her the two potential times to kill her, then yeah, you're stuck with wynne until the sacred ashes, though you can also make her leave by bottoming out her approval (use feast day pranks for this)
Edit to add: I am incorrect, I just remembered you can tell her off after the meeting, when she says she wants to tag along. Forgot about that part.

Excellent. Of course, that means I have to take Morrigan as my mage, whose very presence is like intestinal distress. I really wish there were a Zevran-like mage character who simply goes along with whatever I do without whining about being too good or too evil.

However, playing as a mage she's pretty useless, because my mage is the healer and having her tag along is pointless if you ask me. He advise started getting annoying, but annoying her back is funny.

Thanks for the welcome ejoslin. BTW I was reading the 'hate on eamon' thread and read with interest your comments on the Couslands. Do you know if that topic was ever fully fleshed out? If so, could you point me in the right direction?
I hate to admit it, but I don't remember what I said there! Was it about the Cousland right to the throne? That could be its own thread; people have very strong feelings about it.
To keep it on topic, wynne also lectures the HN about how to be a king! As if someone raised in the circle tower knows more than someone who is a member of the second highest family in ferelden about these things... It's more annoying with a DN, actually.

This is why I almost always recruit her. If you don't take her seriously, it actually is pretty funny. Griffons?
My favorite least favorite Wynne moment has to be in the conversation when she tells the warden that they're not likely to live long (just, you know, fyi...) and then, with almost barely contained glee, says, "Your passing will be glorious, you will blaze like a falling star lighting up the night sky!" Gee, thanks for that, Wynne. xD

Yes, imagine a sixty-year old with all sorts of life experience trying to give some advice to a young twenty-something facing difficult challenges. Unbelievable, the nerve of her ...
