Is Nihlus really dead or what?

I was wondering if there could ever be the slightest chance that Nihlus could come back for ME3, bringing some incredible insight needed to defeat Reapers or something.
Consider-
- Shot in the back medically means nothing these days, and even less in the future.
- We never got a good look at his "dead" body, nor were we medically trained.
- It's Nihlus, and I already feel more than cheated on his early removal from ME1. He was to be my Obi Wan, dammit.

I don't think the writing staff for Mass Effect would resort to silly ideas like this. It's not great writing.

Yeah, killing off a character and then bringing him back would be totally out of their style =P
By the way, awesome name. I'm a Kempo practitioner myself.

Ugh. He's dead. Saren's dead. The Protheans are dead. The Collectors are dead.
Too much dead stuff.
It's very sad.
I wouldn't even mind him being "kept alive" in back flashes.

I just think Nihlus was an incredibly strong character, and should become the Boba Fett of the series, if you will.

You're basing this on all 5 minutes he was in the game?habitat 67 wrote...
I'm hardly a zealot, if that was a concern.

The whole reason Nihlus existed was to show how cold and ruthless Saren was. Nihlus served his purpose and is dead, for good.

In Samara's recruitment mission you are taken to an exclusive part of illium for that mission. You are given a chance to explore a little bit before you talk to some NPC's and start the mission. Go to where you talk to the police officer in the room where the asari police officer is there is a Nihlius look alike sitting next to another turian, or something like that.
So yeah it's just a turian from the same colony, but you can pretend it's Nihlius

Nihilus? Who's Nihilus. He wasn't mentioned in the Genesis comics. I don't know anyone named Nihilus... and he never got shot by Saren.
lol... I guess he's not in the "definitive" version of the game?

A. Saren shot him. I'm sure that Saren knows how to make sure that some one is dead.
B. As Alliance marines, I'm pretty sure that Shepard, Kaidan, and Ashley know how to confirm that someone's dead.
C. The Council isn't in the business of resurrecting people. The Lazarus project was performed from square one by Cerberus and hadn't been done before. Could the Council do the same thing? Yeah, I guess...but I think they would rather spend billions of credits on training dozens of new spectres rather than resurrecting a single one.

Not to get off topic but speaking of bringing people back from the dead, I'm lost as to why Shepard was killed off and brought back to life. It would have made more sense if he was seriously injured to the point of some change to his appearance and drifted into a coma and either the Alliance, Council or Cerberus would have had the means for healing him and getting him out of it. Anyone care to elaborate?

I don't believe any claims were made to the effect of the comic being the "definitive" version of the first game. Now I'm all for poking holes in silly marketing hype, but let's keep it grounded in what was actually said.Felfenix wrote...

...Boba....Fett..... (geez for those who don't know got one line, fell in the Sarlacc pit but "jetpacked" out due to popularity.)marshalleck wrote...

And yes, sometimes characters are unpredictably wonderful and they become greater characters at a later date. Nihlus would be one of these characters.

Cause they wanted to do all those "Is Shepard dead!? What will happen!?" promos that were pretty pointless and nobody bought into. We all know we're gonna be playing Shepard. Who popped in ME2, and after the prologue was like "OMG, Shepard is dead? Who will I play as now? OMG! Shepard survived! I'm so surprised!"

By "nobody bought into" do you mean "half the forums freaked out about it"?

I know who Boba Fett is, and flying out of the sarlacc pit is the most stupid idea ever. Well, not as bad as killing Shepard and resurrecting him 5 minutes later to render the death meaningless and inconsequential, but still pretty close.habitat 67 wrote...
