Is Nihlus really dead or what?

Not to get off topic but speaking of bringing people back from the dead, I'm lost as to why Shepard was killed off and brought back to life. It would have made more sense if he was seriously injured to the point of some change to his appearance and drifted into a coma and either the Alliance, Council or Cerberus would have had the means for healing him and getting him out of it. Anyone care to elaborate?


Cause they wanted to do all those "Is Shepard dead!? What will happen!?" promos that were pretty pointless and nobody bought into. We all know we're gonna be playing Shepard. Who popped in ME2, and after the prologue was like "OMG, Shepard is dead? Who will I play as now? OMG! Shepard survived! I'm so surprised!"


So the whole Shepard getting killed off and resurrected thing was not only ridiculous but also pointless.  The seriously injured/half-dead/coma idea would have made more sense.

I don't believe any claims were made to the effect of the comic being the "definitive" version of the first game. Now I'm all for poking holes in silly marketing hype, but let's keep it grounded in what was actually said.

It would be interesting to see him being pushed along in a wheelchair as a paraplegic, incapable of speech, for dramatic tension.

Though that might be going a bit far.

I'm pretty sure he's DEAD-dead...but anything is possible.

I'll say this...on my 1st playthrough his getting shot was one of the biggest surprises in the Game for me and it set a tone for the Game pretty nicely.

Same here. I actually thought he was going to mentor or something for atleast the first mission or two.

Then he got shot. :(

He as dead as u can get, Specters have a funny way of ending up dead.

I mean, all the Specters we meet die at one point or another durning the game.

Saren = KIA

Nihlus = KIA

Asari Specter (Forgot Name) = KIA

Shep = KIA then came back

I was under the impression that major characters don't die until they get to say a few dying words to the hero. Isn't that a law or something?

Just noticed that spectres only get to be killed by other spectres. I guess that's the reason Shep didn't stay dead.

I know i am extremely late, but what if shepard gets knocked out in ME3 and while hes all messed up he sees nihlus and he gives shep an awesome speech than shep wakes up and kicks ass, kinda like in Rocky 5, Lol

Nihlus was an EXTREMELY MINOR character.  He was more of a plot device to introduce the idea of Spectres to you early in the game.  That. Is. All.
