Its never were stated in DA lore that elves are shorter than humans-lither-yes, thin-boned-yes. Shorter-no. It was a design decision of DAO to make them smaller and they changed it in DA2-no grate retcon was made.

Who cares about whether it's a retcon? No one plays an elf in Dragon Age 2. You can only play a human.

I can't imagine they'd model one race around a FemHawke romance. They could simply make Fenris taller.

While they're at it, make Aveline taller too.

And this is a core of why this decision were made I think.

Some love when their boyfriend is shorter, but majority do not. Its a sexual dimorphism thing.

Heightism just plain pisses me off. A man doesn't need to be taller than a woman, nor does a woman need to be shorter than a man to be considered attractive. Especially not in a FANTASY SETTING. It's ridiculous.

I dont think theres anything against short women ( I think. Cant think of any other reason why a 6'2 guy would like my 5'1ness)

But this is fantasy! This a setting where there are different humanoid races. It makes sense that the normal idea of "tall man, short woman" wouldn't matter nearly as much as in the real-world.

In real-world, I like taller guys.

In fantasy-world, I don't care about the height so long as the personality is good and there is mutual attraction. I even strongly support inter-species/inter-racial relations.

Fenris is one elf. Not all elves.

I accept that people who are into Fenris are so petty they can't stand to romance anyone shorter than them. However, I'm so petty, I don't want to be shorter than elves.

I'm sure that Male Hawke will still be taller than elves and if they ever show female qunari, they'll be slightly shorter or the same height as male humans.
