I think Varric manages to be all of the above.
Hm...
Though at least this news confirms Fenris as a lead romance.
We can't have the male lead be shorter than the female lead now can we? <_<

Fine with me. I'm not attracted to short men anyway.
Uh, since you did have the option to romance Zevran with an HF in Origins, that kind of shoots that down, doesn't it?Ryzaki wrote...

Does Varric count as a male lead?

...Zevran was the male lead? Since when?
Zev's a side character. Always was.
And as much as I like Leliana so was she.
You were awfully quick to jump on that.
I'd say Isabela is the female lead simply because she's the promo girl.Saibh wrote...
We really don't know who the male and female leads are, honestly.

I think that's a bit harsh, for me, Alistair's a side character. Always was.

Probably the latter.yukidama wrote...
Does Varric count as a male lead? Or is he discounted from yet another thing because of his height? Heh.

She's saying that because typically the male lead is a Love Interest, which has been thoroughly discounted in this thread, if my reading comprehension isn't as rusty as it might be.

There is no "lead" because the PC is always a variable. If the PC is female in DA2, she's taller than Varric and shorter than Fenris. So...?
The bottom line for me is that I'm glad to hear the devs were trying not to make elves look children. As it was, in Origins it was hard to make an elf character that didn't look like she just skipped out on junior high school.

Oh, I agree there. And of course I hope to see some more screens of DA2 elves, but the Merrill screen at least facially gives the impression that she's a wee little kid. If she's taller than she looks in the dev diary that would be good, but her more rounded looking facial structure and how they seem to have given the elves big eyes goes back to a more child like look. Maybe thats just Merrill though, as Fenris' face doesn't seem as odd looking.

I just don't see height as indicative of age. If you have a baby face you're still going to look young no matter how tall, in MY opinion. I was the same height when I was 13 as I am now, but still I didn't look "mature" then (I still don't, lol). I guess I just don't see height as a deciding variable when judging someone's age, especially in a fantasy setting.
