They did. Not only are they taller, per the concept art the difference between the women and men is less.
I guess that's sexist, too?
She's standing on her tippy-toes, so she's probably a tad shorter than what she appears to be.
Human women are shorter than elven dudes?

I honestly don't get the big deal over the height "issue". I don't really see the issue with human women being shorter than some elven males.
Not an issue in my eyes. Guess I'd have to see it from someone else's point of view.
Like an elf.
The bottom line?
There was a --->change<---. Sadly one the could be said to have Unfortunate Implications, which makes the outcry for both sides worse. Pretty much everyother change has been discussed/whined about on the boards. Why anyone thinks this one is special and shouldn't be discussed is beyond me.

Alright, so with respect to elves in general, we still don't know how tall they are relative to humans, either male or female, though you said it was to make them look less like children so that sounds to me like a general change rather than Fenris alone being made taller.David Gaider wrote...

Careful with that. I believe Chris Priestly already said that the heights in that concept art were not representative... meaning the concept art is there to show the visual distinction between the races. It's not meant to show the exact height that the models in-game will use.

People get murdered everyday, and for every known fathomable reason, but we won't worry about the violence in the game though, right? That's just trivial, or is it just inconvenient? I mean it's just a game, isn't it? Well, it is to me, but I guess it's not if you're "discriminated" against. If you're "discriminated" against, then you get to pick and choose what you find as offensive and wrong and "discramatory"...while you're chopping off someone's head at the same time.
What a load of self righteous bs.

I'm just amazed it's gone on for so long. Finally got Gaider's attention, though

Though lol it did take a while to reach Gaider's attention didn't it?
Though really my height complex is easiy solved. All I have to do is play a human male. Then I'm taller than everyone except the horned Qunari.

Surely it wasn't that much of a leap. I mean the whole Drell species in Mass Effect was created when they wanted to give FemShep a new love intrest in ME2.David Gaider wrote...

I think the obvious point is that Fenris is an LI. We can take it as a given now since there is no other reason to change male elves height and human females height only. They made it to match Fenris to femHawke. Since if you think that Fenris could be the only straight LI for femHawke they don't want him to be smaller as well.
Seriously?
So we thought that Zevran, say, was too short. If anyone didn't buy him as a love interest, that was why. So we're going to go in and change the heights of all elves to accommodate this assumed all-important romance with Fenris, because female players just wouldn't accept it otherwise? It couldn't be because of the other reasons I stated, it has to be some heightist conspiracy?
I've heard some bizarre notions on this forum from time to time. Occasionally there's even some truth to them, even if they're bent out of proportion-- but this one takes the cake.
Incidentally, we haven't changed the height of human females. Not sure why you think so, or why anyone would think a love interest would have to "match" anything. I think this teaches me to answer questions, if this is the sort of stuff people can conjure up to justify their dislike of a change. Wow.

What if they wax?
And would Ladyhawke be still interested in Varric sans chest hair...

I feel like anytime someone feels they find a situation that might somehow apply they'll link it up with authoritative conviction no matter how tenuous the relationship is. I understand tropes are a necessary tool (and often important to recognize, like Women In Refirgerators and the misogyny behind it) but the way they're often wielded in the forums is unnecessary at best.
imo
