Me too. With taller elves, I don't mind that there might not be a human male LI anymore.kuurankuiskaus wrote...
I for one approve of taller elves!

Elves should be shorter. That's one of their hats. But oh well, I don't really care.

I don't know whether to be frustrated because of what's being said or happy that people still think Varric might be a viable option for an LI.yukidama wrote...

On one hand, I like the change. Inteen for Sim 2 practically beat it into me that 'short ppls no kissy face tall ppls.' well, actually I just cringed a lot from horrid animations. But that makes me take pause when I think of romancing an elf as anything but an elf. Also why I never romanced anyone as my Brosca dwarf.
On the other hand, I'm really, really pissed. Seriously, what is the point of making your elves short and skinny if in the next game you aren't going to add that detail? Maybe it's just the perfectionist inside me, but I think that by changing the design like that, they've messed up big time with elves. Short, lithe, skinny and cat-like were how I always thought of Bioware's elven folk. ;-; So much for making your own type of elf. >.>

Or maybe it's just something that has to do with the new art direction...why doesn't anyone get angry over elves not having shoes? They had shoes in DA:O.

My dwarf would stretch up to meet Alistair. It was bad.ankuu wrote...
What if they changed the height because of the animation issues? I am still wondering how Alistair was kissing a dwarf lady, by making her float? And the romance scenes were terrifying...

...wait, really? What
if they walk on glass from a broken window or a sharp rock or hot
pavement or a trap or dog poo or toxic darkspawn blood or if an insect
bites them? So if I'm fighting an elf I just have to aim for his unarmored foot?

This was asked in the Fenris thread and David Gaider said the designers have this thing about elves and shoes. So they will remain shoe-less.

Considering the change in animation (how
much better it's gotten, I mean), I sincerely doubt any of the kissing
or romance scenes will play out as they did in Origins. I don't remember
Morrigan jumping into the Warden's arms and throwing them both down
onto a bed. There's been a great deal of improvement, and I believe - at
this point - they would be able to animate the kisses in a way that it
wouldn't require a dwarf or an elf to put on huge heeled boots just to
kiss Hawke.
True...haven't thought about that. I guess the devs are the only ones that can explain this change.

1. How tall is Fenris Compared to Fem!Hawke?
I don't know. I've never compared the two. I think elves are now the same height as humans, so he'd be a bit taller than FemHawke, but I could be wrong.2. Will Fenris ever wear shoes?
No. The artists have this thing about elves and shoes. Don't get me started.

Whether your rooting for Fenris or Varric as an LI we all want the same thing just with different characters and as you said its an option. Why wouldnt I want someone to have the same option as me, it would not make sense..Calla S wrote...

It's good to see someone who doesn't want to romance him support having the option regardless!
By the way, tall elves all the way!! *runs away*

But, I think I'd rather the elves stay short. I don't particularly care, but I liked that aspect about them.

But honestly, I'd prefer if elves were still shorter than humans and only the tallest of male elfs be as tall as human females
