I'm playing Awakenings as a mage, and have showered Anders in presents, given him my **** (although I still think "Ser Pounce-A-Lot" is a pretty lame name) and said/done all the right things to gain approval.
I know no characters are romanceable, but I have Anders at +100 approval and it says Love on the character pane.
Was Anders (and other characters) originally going to be romanceable but the developers ran out of time/space?
(Tried searching for this with no luck. Maybe I'm just bad at searching.)

The approval system in Awakening was always jinked up even after the patch. My female Warden even had Velanna at +100 (Love) even though she was Human to make matters more preposterous!!
