Greetings

I would like to say some things and don't want to b*tch about it or something. I really look forward to play DA2 but I had some release issues with Bioware/EA in the past. First I had some problems with Dragon age Origins and the DLC's on the Ultimate Edition. I just bought ME2 yesterday and have to wait till Friday to redeem my DLC because the European servers aren't active yet  and my first copy of the game didn't have a DLC code and it was sealed so I had to bring it back to the store. (off topic I had the same problem with Bad Company 2). And even then there seem to be A LOT of technical issues with ME  Why do you have to wait 2 days to play a game that you pay the full price for it :( So I'm really looking forward to m on the PS3 Signature Edition that will arrive on my birthday but I got the feeling that I will have some problems with DA2 DLC's too. So PLEASE Bioware/EA check your products before you release them. I know you guys are improving your services and EA services are really grate but small issues like that ruin the experiences for us.  It looks like you guys are giving too much promises and are only after the money...

Same issue here. The wife tells me my copy has been delivered...however, I now know I won't be able to play it tonight as the Cerberus code won't work until tomorrow.

Seriously, what's the point of preordering? Why can't the codes have been active 2 days before release, how hard can it be??? I've got DA2 signature edition preordered as well, I bet that will have the same issue.

First of all this is NOT a rant or trolling. Just honest opinion.
I found an interesting article about the ME2 PS3 version. (www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-masseffect2-face-off)  So Bioware has promised us Unreal Engine 3 but almost every site doesn't see any difference. ME2 was originally supposed to be like 40$ but since EA is using "Unreal 3" the game is going to cost 60$. The biggest issue is the framerate that is not good on the PS3 because it unlike the 360 version it gets higher than 30 fprs. Since there is no difference i would rather had 'the old' ME 2.5 engine with more balanced frame rates.
I also would have had an actual manual or art and not just a blank paper. This sound dumb but we are paying 60 €/$ for it. The ps3 version just has better light effects and that's it.

To conclude thank you Bioware for releasing this game on the PS3 and I'm looking forward to play mine but pls don't promise players things that aren't true just for the money. This will make gamers stop pre-ordering things. Please Bioware don't make the same mistakes that Activision is making with COD-series. Gamers aren't stupid.  I know you guys will release a patch to fix some small issues but reward your loyal fans like you guys mention in every interview

I just played the game (didn't have to wait till Friday) and it looks very good. Once again thank you Bioware.

What I mentioned before were just some opinions and there are still people with glitches, bugs and HUGE freezing issues. But I never intended to rant on Bioware or something like that. Just some small things :)

We were promised the definite version, but it certainly doesn't seem like it. Don't promise something you aren't going to keep!

I'm renting ME2 for the PS3, since I see no reason to pay $60 for the same game that cost $10 on Xbox 360. Heck I own the ME LE for Xbox 360, ME2 LE for Xbox 360 and ME2 Deluxe for PC!

Thing is, you are getting what you payed for. There may be some technical issues (which seems to be common place on launches in the modern era of gaming, sad really) but you are eventually getting what's promised. THEN AGAIN, I may be too optimistic.

Tbh, I found the framerate to be the exact same as on the Xbox 360 version. Or maybe it's because I have the old Xbox 360? Anyway, exact same experience/feel.

It's not because of BioWare. Put this on EA marketing. EA is the one running everything related to Marketing and publishing.

And you got UE3.  ME1 used UE3 too.  As did the 360/PC version of ME2.  I.e., the entire series has ALWAYS used UE3.  The only difference with ME2 PS3 is that they've incorporated some of the customizing done to the engine for ME3. Or, rather, it's the case that some of the UE3 engine customization Bioware did when making ME2PS3 was also adopted for ME3, and likewise some of the stuff done to the engine by the ME3 team made it into ME2PS3.  In the marketing, this turned into "ME2 on the PS3 uses the ME3 engine."

Then why all this hype by EA that PS3 looks MUCH better than 360?? :P I hope Bioware will use UE3.5 for ME3.
And thanks for the info. I think the game looks very good and it runs smooth as a baby's behind :P (at least for me). I feel bad for people who can't even pass the loading screens though....

There really isn't a UE 3.5.  As far as Epic is concerned, it's still just "Unreal Engine 3". What happened was,  there were various features added and tweaks made to the engine which were showcased back in 2008 at the GDC and people have taken to calling those changes "UE 3.5".  Now, I can't be sure, but given how long ago that update was released (GDC '08 took place before ME1 even came out on the PC), it's a pretty good bet ME2 uses the "3.5" version of the engine.  And of course, all this is ignoring the fact that the ME team has extensively customized the engine themselves, and also that Epic has continued to update the engine periodically.

Some opinion after the release

I 100% agree with you guys about the patch etc but b*tchig and moaning doesn't get you anywhere; We can make 1000 posts no one will reply because they don't have the answers themselves. I played the game for 30 hours without 1 freeze and I love Bioware but at the same time they DID promise us that the PS3 version will be THE BEST version. They had 1 year to fix all the previous problems but I don't think they actually did have 1 year. I think EA just decided to drop this game on the ps3 and the guys at Bioware had like 3 months or so. So don't blame them but send your problems to EA as well. As much as I hate EA a lot of my favorite games are published by them.

But guys we have to show some love to Bioware. I know some people lost all their saves and some can even play the damn thing. It's messed up and I know how pissed off you guys must be. NV had much more problems on the day of release and patching stuff in big games like ME isn't easy.

So for now we just have to wait and I hope that EA releases DA2 without so much problems. I hope EA does something about his production in the future but they have improved A LOT over the past years.

I have an idea... and this may sound reaaaaally crazy, but why not just include ALL the DLC on the disc , thus making it readily available, instead of making us download it with a code?? Hmm?? This would solve waiting two days to access the server, and solve problems for people like me, who don't have their console hooked up to the internet -- and can't get what they paid for. Is there not enough space on the disc to include it??

Again, I really appreciate what DLC they *did* include on the disc, and I really love the game. I'm on my third play-through.

Yeah, servers need to be active DAY ONE........coordination is key...why that would stop anyone from a purchase doesnt make sense....just buy the game on DAY THREE....problem solved

Yes and once again you guys forget ONE thing: EA. If Bioware decides to include all the DLC's on the disc they can't do it because of EA. The same thing happened with Bad company 2. EA wants to prevent people from using second hand copies and rather buy a new copy with a key.
But that problem i can live with.
What I don't get is why there are so many dumb issues with the game? They promised us the best ME2 version (not saying that the game is bad). AND they haven't fixed the previous problems. It's like Bioware doesn't give a F anymore

I don't know if it's Bioware or EA or Sony - someone definitely does not give a F anymore.
