I'm getting sick of editing this file, but I guess this is just the current state of PC gaming *sigh*.

1. Mass Effect 2: Coalesced Editor v1.0.0.32(B)
Download from: social.bioware.com/project/1854/

2. Run program as "Administrator"...

3. Search: mousesensitivity

Modify following attributes.

mousesensitivity = .7  (originally 1.0)

Now I no longer whip my mouse around and then wonder, uuugh what direction was I facing originally?! WHERE AM I? lol!

It really boggles the mind how something as essential as mouse sensitivity got overlooked.

If you have a decent mouse you can adjust the sensitivity anyway. Mind you I didn't have any problems when I had a rubbish mouse.

Maybe your hardware just sucks...?

A good game allows you to press ESC, Options, Controls, Mouse Sensitivity.

A bad game forces you to alt tab out, and modify mouse sensitivity through 3rd party means. This translates into modifying mouse settings for EVERY application.

You're obviously not a programmer, but I will treat you with the same respect.

Each piece of software should house a unique profile that caters to itself only.  Violate this rule and you publicly announce your inferiority as a software programmer.

But in the case of Mass Effect 2, it was a console port.  So Bioware pretty much said "**** the pc.." I blame software piracy.

I never had a problem with Mouse Sensitivity.  Actually never even touched it for ME2 and it flows great.

Chances are your sensitivty in your OS or your mouse is slower than normal.

See a good programmer accounts for all the different configurations that exist in the world of computers.  That is why 99% of games have an option called "mouse sensitivity".

Bioware seems to think they are soooo awesome that they don't have to do this lol.

Edit - Sorry that was just mean of me, but again you can't really just deduce what my Mouse sensitivity is on my system without trying it for yourself first.

No i didn't mean any disrespect. For example my downstairs computer has a
different mouse and it just naturally responds slower. It doesn't mean
it's good or bad, that's just the nature of different mouses.

I've used different mouses on different machines and there are just too many variables to consider, that is why good gaming companies always give a mouse sensitivity option.

I can't believe they didn't let us adjust mouse sensitivity.

Thank you for this. I have just started playing the PC version and the mouse control was killing me, this has helped.

I had not problem with mouse sensitivity, but OP is right, it should be adjustable by game too.

How ever, Mass Effect 2 is done, I don't think they change anything anymore in it.

at the default i could do a 360 with just a few centimeters of movment, and after i downloaded notepad++ and edited the config file (turning off stuff like mouse acceleration and mouse damp) im down to 0.4 (default is 1.0)

there's just no way for bioware to justify that to anyone. plain and simple stupidity/gross oversight
