I've googled around and can't seem to find it anywhere. Specifically I'm looking for a list of the exact phrases the various NPCs say when you select them, or give them various orders.... not necessarily an exhaustive list of all dialogs (though that would be cool also).
There's certain things some NPCs say that I just can't make out, no matter if I listen on headphones or speakers.
Any transcripts like these you can point out would be appreciated (for BG 1 or 2, really). Thanks.
List of NPC sayings for BG2?

If you run the BGConfig there should be an option to activate subtitles, which will then display what everyone (even creatures) says, this only works for bg2 though but IIRC in bg1 there is a similar option in the audio options menu (ingame that is).

Spjuv3rn: Will the subtitles appear floating by the character, or in the box below with the to hit rolls, damage results etc.?
NearInfinity sounds like waaay more than I'd be interested in, but thanks for the info.

They will appear in the box.

I went into the config file and checked the boxes for subtitles and for extra info. Nothing different happened. Still no subtitles or captions of any kind for NPC selection. To be clear - I want to know everything the NPCs say when selected or ordered around... Vicionia for example has a few things she says that I just can't hear... some of it is in a fake Drow language, but I just want to hear what all my fellow travelers are saying.
Any other ideas as to where I can find this stuff? Someone MUST have put a typed out list of NPC saying somewhere over the past 12 years. Anyone know?
I'm playing on the Good Old Games downloaded version, by the way.

You can activate the subtitles directly in the game under "Sound".

Subtitles display when characters have dialog or speeches, but not when they're selected or told to do something. That's what I am looking for. Oh well, I guess no one knows. Thanks anyway.

Did you actually go Options/Sound/Character Sounds to activate the Subtitles? Because that one works for me without fail in both BG1 and BG2. The only problem I can imagine you might still be having is that you do not have any actual NPCs in your group but only selfmade PCs, which do not get any subtitles.

Nope.
Again, I have subtitles display when there's a dialog or speech. But not when the character is selected. And I'm using only the plain old NPCs that are in the game. Nothing custom.
For instance, when you click on Yoshimo, he'll say "How shall I display my skill and expertise?" He has several different things he'll say when he's selected. All the NPCs have these, and it's different for each one.
Those are the lines of dialog I want to see. And no matter which boxes I check, those "selection sounds" do not ever display as text.
Really, it's not a huge deal. I was just curious what some of them say, as some "selection sounds" are hard to hear.

Never mind.
I finally saw it. I was staring right at the screen with the check box and didn't see it. I swear I tried fiddling with it three times and never saw the check box that enables this.
Sorry I wasted everyone's time, and thanks.
