Since Im just a designer monkey, I dont really know much about doing the technical. But Im quite excellent with the Photopop.

I've done quite a lot of textures, for CSS, FO3 and so on and so forth. But if someone could point me in the right direction, then I would be most grateful.

1) Is the textures compressed in some giant file somewhere? If so how do I find it and un-compress it

2) Are the textures in DDS?

3) Can I use DDS Converter to work with the files in PS?

Thanks in advance, Im itching to get down and dirty with this game :ph34r:

Search for Tazpn's project, he has files there that'll let you unpack the textures.

They are in DDS format and I've had no problem opening them in Photoshop.

I just did a quick test on a texture - to see if it was working.
But the texture does not change in game? I thought it was build like FO3 for example.

Where you just dump your new DDS file in to the folder and it overrides the default. In DAO's example it would be core/override/textures/high/xxx.dds

Am I missing something here?

///Edit: nvm - I need sleep :ph34r:

I have the same problem, I used the Nvidia DDS plugin for CS4, retextured the basic mage robes, placed them in the override folder in the right folder system...but then nothing. It doesnt appear in game?

Ok, I just put all the files straight into the override folder. When I try it in game, the mage robes are still orange, but every other "accessory" part I textured shows up. What happened?

Seems like whenever I color anything black, it still shows up dark blue.
