If I was a cynic I'd say this helps you by increasing digital downloads, and decreasing losses from the used games market.

As for the topic - I've never had a problem calling up the nearest store and checking delivery time of the next batch.

Hey, here's a thought (and I say this with love)  "if you can't say something nice/stay on topic, don't say anything at all/shut up. ;)

This isn't a marketing ploy. Please explain to me how posting "we don't have enough games for you" HELPS us in some way?

All my research into available quantities suggests that they are plentiful.  So creating a false or misleading "buzz" about the game selling out in maybe one or two stores will generate hype and sales.

Also because the digital version I'm pretty sure won't "run out".

Also, what are the chances of someone posting the exact local retailer in your town? Incredibly slim? Why the thread or the same thing on Facebook? Misleading buzz sounds about right Mystranna.

Ok so let me get this straight... For PS3 the game is selling out and Bioware's created a thread to let fans know where to find some.... But on the 360, Bioware created no such thread? And I'm sure that would have been the version to sell out.... Even before reading through this thread, it seemed to me like a cheap topic anyway. They seem to have fallen..... :o

It's okay, you can tell us if it's a marketing ploy...I think we're only bringing it up out of amusement, like "oh BioWare, we see what you're trying to do...you sly dogs".

Ok, so to get this straight:
We went back in time, created a website called Playstation Lifestyle so that when ME2 on PS3 launched we could create misleading buzz? And we went back in time yet again to yesterday and wrote the article? You'll also note that the whole purpose of the post is to help fans looking for a physical copy and states clearly that the digital version is available, right?

Ok, I'm done with this. You believe what you want. Hopefully some people will use the thread as it was intended to help locate the game for those who want it.

The article you quoted says simply that Amazon and a single Best Buy location was "sold out".

That's hardly an implication of widespread shortages.
I don't know why you're going all melodramatic with the time travel scenarios.

When I went to GameStop here in Chico, CA a couple of hours ago, they still had at least one left. Sorry I can't be more specific, I reserved a copy through their website and about 30 min. later, went in and picked it up. I only know there was at least one left because the guy behind the counter didn't realize a copy was already set aside for me.

Hello Mass Effect 2 on Playstation fans.

We have heard from numerous sources that retail copies of Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 is sold out at many retailers and fans are unable to find a copy. While this is good news for us (we WANT to sell lots of copies), we want our fans to be able to find a copy and play for themselves.

Edit: News article about ME2 PS3 selling out

So, if you know that your local retailer still has copies, can you please post where they are? Something like "I was just at the Gamestop at Southgate Mall in Edmonton and they still had copies" or whatever works for where you saw them. Please include the name of the store, whereabouts in the city/town it is and the city name.

Also, this is for the physcial copy of the game. Don't forget you can also purchase the game digitally through the Playstation Network.

Help fans play ME2 on PS3 by posting where they can buy it.

Thanks everyone. :)

*sighs* Did you ever think that some people, like myself, prefer to have a physical copy in hand. At least with the disk you're using up less HDD space.

Isn't a joke.  Some people like myself likes to have a physical copy in hand, as tangible proof that you own it.

Well to add constructive input to this thread. If a mod or Bioware employee could update the opening post with the data for each store posted by someone. That way people don't have to click through 10 to 20 pages looking for their particular city or one near by. That would help consumers a bit.

Now you're making me feel a little bit guilty for buying a PS3 copy even though I've 100%ed it on the 360. :)

I 100%ed it on 360 as well but I don't feel any bit guilty for buying a PS3 copy, they should have been faster lol...

By the way, does anyone felt that the ME2 on PS3 seems a bit difficult on normal difficulty. I played a lot on 360 and my playthroughs were smooth with basically no deaths even on my first playthrough but on PS3 it seems I'm getting my butt kicked all the time, like the enemies shoot dead on and I seem to get flanked too often(I hate Asari commandos, warren dogs,Krogans, heavy mechs and those zombies too plus collectors), the only time I got problems like that on 360 was when I started an insanety run... I'm really thinking of lowering the difficulty to easy, at least untill I get to a second run, but do I still get the trophies if I do?

I think my mistake was starting with a soldier class, I was used to the infiltrator class on 360, with cooler powers though...
