Eh, I still haven't gotten around to playing the original for more than 30 minutes. Guess I should get a move on.
Still so many other things to play though. Choices, choices.

Luckily the horribly clunky feeling of the controls can be mostly fixed, or else I would've already quit playing after 5 minutes.

Hey guys you dont happen to know if it has campaign co-op? Would be a blast playing with a friend.

it's a 4 vs 4 team battle. One team tries to achieve certain objectives the other team tries to stop them. The quests do tie in with the main campaign. But no. Not a campaign co-op.

I'm fine with it as long as it's not an arena-type of multiplayer <_<

I had no complaints about the controls. They're much smoother than anything in the older Resident Evil games. That aside, Dead Space, like RE, is a survival-horror game. The controls aren't supposed to be as smooth as something like, say, Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. It adds to the experience.

I'm guessing you're talking about the console version, which from what I've heard isn't quite as bad when it comes to the controls.

On the PC version you get *MASSIVE* amounts of mouse lag and mouse acceleration. Turn your mouse a little and you move way too slow, turn it just a tiny bit too fast and you're spinning all over the place.
(and strangely enough it's all somehow tied to the game's vsync controls. Turn it off and the mouse is pretty smooth, after which you can safely force vsync in windows itself..)

And supposedly, this is also the way it's supposed to work according to the devs.
Yeah right, if you need to add such clunky controls to add to the horror feeling of your game, then you're really doing something wrong in other places.

Ah, yes. I see how that could be a problem. It's also one of the many reasons I prefer consoles for gaming over PCs.

I ajusted sensibility in the first minutes of the game and had no problems there. Mouse over pad for a shooter any time.

I hate it already, which is somewhat strange since it's not out. The inclusion of online frightens me.

Oh and I heard that Nicole also returns, and as violent as ever.

So she's still all necromorphy? That would put a damper on a romantic evening.

igngames reported that nicole can kill you. makes me question if its a hallucination or the actual nicole

Apparently they don't want the player to have any time to breathe easy this time around. I hear there are a lot of times where enemies spawn behind you without any indication, which has really been annoying the reviewers.

I normally don't play survival horror games, let alone sequels when I have not even played #1. But Dead Space 2 looks amazing.

Anyone knows which DRM will it have?

Steam acts as DRM itself, so if it's on Steam, chances are it won't have SecuROM

I take it they have been playing with the volume down then? That ain't how you play a survival horror! lol Image IPB

As soon as it arrives in UK, I'm soooo getting it.

But still, I hope that Dead Space 2 won't be all-action game. The Launch trailer hit hard with rock music. Oh well. I heard they changed "twinkle twinkle" to "ring around the rosie"

Heck no, I gotta work tomorrow. I'll grab it after. I'm taking Feb. 15th off, though. So I can go to the midnight launch for Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Buying it. Dead Space was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am, however, not interested in the multiplayer.

I'll enjoy it if it won't be an arena deathmatch coz the mutiplayer trailer gives that impression. But I heard there will be specific "tasks" you'll have to do while killing necro's. The whole launch trailer gives the impression that DS2 has been turned into an action game. But I'm sure it will be fine. As long as Isaac and Nicole are in.

Its out here on Friday and I'm still undecided. I tried playing the first again the other night and I just felt so under powered it was annoying. I'm hitting the limbs and they aren't coming off which is just frustrating me as I'm dying in a couple of hits. But I do like the horror and the premise, I'll give it one more try tonight I think.

The only problem I had with Dead Space was the controls. At first I failed to shot a Necromorph and had to melee it like a madman. When I got used it was quite fun. The game itself is not scary at all, well atleast to me. I liked the atmosphere very much, thought. So yeah... Dead space lacks interesting characters, has kinda predicable twists but is fun to play. Lol it reminds me of Alien, the only movie that scared me.

Just picked up Dead Space 2 myself. As someone whom was NOT a fan of the original Dead Space (thought it was just an average horror game at best), I absolutely love Dead Space 2 so far. First off, it actually is frightening in certain parts unlike the first game which was very atmospheric, but lacked the scary factor IMO. The story is very interesting so far as well.

Which I find really strange, considering they didn't change much of anything for the sequel.
