The credits got me too XD

*turns right*
Ellie: Wut??

*SPOILERS*

I was disappointed in the execution of Nicole. I mean there were like two "button-ash to live" segents with her (I saw the first one coming a mile away), or her just screaming at you when the screen goes all sepia and you're like "Yeah yeah. Finish talking so I can open the damn door." Real disappointed by that type of stuff. Creepy, but not scary at all.

I just thought of a line from Futurama that fits perfectly.

Leela: Haven't you've ever seen a woman with one eye before?

And is it me, or do the guys at Visceral have a fetish about pokey objects going into eyes? There was the captain of the Ishimura, Ellie, and Isaac with in the machine. Hell Nicole tried to kill him ala needle to eye like they did the Ishimura's captain.

I would, but apparently it doesn't appear in the PC version. Good job EA, you really love the PC don't you?

Not yet, plan on getting it after I finish my current playthrough (new game + 1). Only problemwith Hardcore mode is that you only get three save points, so unless they have temporary save points, you'll have to make out a lot of time to play it. I don't see myself saving the game anytime before chapter 7 (so save 1 around chapter 7-8), then probably again at Chapter 11 or 12, whichever is right before the drill-ride (save 2), and finally at chapter 14, right before Cross My Heart Hope to Die Stick A Needle In Your Eye (save 3).

Thankfully, I hear hardcore isn't actually the hardest mode. If I can choose easy mode while on hardcore, I'll breeze through Zealot going "Pew Pew Pew" in style

What do you mean? I don't think it counts as finishing the game on hard core if you change difficulties? Or are you trying to say you'll beat the game on easy first then go through zealot with upgraded weapons?

Also, hard core is the exact same as zealot, except with the 3 save limit...

OMG!! this game is brilliant!!

i still havent beat it yet but i took my time with the first dead space and explored and i really enjoyed it. and im doing the same thing with this one.

Visceral did great with this the promotion was clever, the cut scenes are INTENSE and unlike the original Dead Space there are NO "Safe Houses" or any break from the heart pumping relentless necromorph attacks!

well i just boarded the USG Ishimura... i have a bad feeling about this!!!

I haven't played either of the Dead Space games, so I can't judge them.  I will say this though: words cannot even begin to express the disgust I feel when I see those "Your mom will hate this game" advertisements.  Somehow, they managed to sum up practically everything I hate about the videogame industry in one single little commercial.

I know it's unfair, but that's the sort of thing that tends to kill my interest in any game.

My mom had... nagative feelings about it at first, but she's seen some of the commercials and thinks they;re hilarious. Also after explaining a lot of the plot synapse and stuff, she actually thinks its pretty good. Dead Space isn't just another trashy horror franchise. Unfortunately most people don't see past the mindless "ooh blood and gore and guts yipee".

Not that there's anything wrong about liking blood and gore and guts.

I liked them, I thought they were something a bit different.

The game is awesome. I liked the spear gun. Just that it was kinda weird that Isaac survived the wounds that Tiedemman inflicted with his javelin gun.

Now the things I don't like abot this game:

*spoilers*

1) No really cool twists. Daina mentioned something about Isaac as being too important and that Isaac created the marker.

2) characters die too fast.

3) the Earth government didn't really played a "major part" like EA said it will

4) Nicole wasn't scary at all

Well I'm glad that Ellie survived. She's my favorite character in the game. Absolutely badass.

"You owe me an eye your bastard" awesome line

I hope that they won't kill her in the next game.

I'm partial to the seeker rifle. More ammo, and an easy one of two hit kill on almost all enemies.

There was actually one of those button-mash scenes that was supposed to be in the game not there at all. They acted it out IRL at a shot since the programmers hadn't done it yet. HAd no idea why it wasn't in there, but I can speculate. Multiplayer take the resources away, maybe? And of the two jump-scares with her, both could be seen from miles away. Most of her was just annoying because you couldn't move through the next door until she shut up.

Am I the only one who was surprised that
*spoilers*
While you were in the Ishimura, you didn't hear dialogue from the first game? I mean thats gold, especially compared to the same old "Isaac" which often came at inappropriate times. I mean for one, when you activated the diagnostic computer (the one that introduced the necros in the first) the scene should have been heard being re-enacted in the other room through the tarp. Just simple stuff to scare us, but its better than half of their lame attempts.

I agree! it actually has a really good story with it as well

and im not really a huge fan of horror movies(cause they usually suck) but Dead Space knows how to scare me!

and also it is a nice change of pace from a game that keeps you less on egde, definitely keeps you engaged!

It just didn't feel the same. While on the Ishumura I felt like there was a definable goal, a reason why you were doing what you were. In 2, nothing really seemed well grounded. The whole 'agent that is helping you but later stabs you in the back' was fine, but the mad guy who for some reason or another you have to help seemed out of place. And while I liked Ellie, their whole becoming 'partners' felt fake. First she doesn't want to give a damn about you, but 30 minutes later she's playing babysitter to some derranged guy because you asked nicely?

I guess I was hoping for better writting, and perhaps a milder intro, perhaps strolling through the Sprawl a few times before the crap hit the fan, but all in all it was pretty fun. I did find the 'Jack-o-Lantern Nicole' funny/annoying, if not amateurish in a horror sense.

I fear having to do Hardcore mode...............3 saves? Really?

EDIT: I'm still p-d about the multiplayer. How can you charge extra for something that hasn't even made a name for itself?

Just a quick question, what's all this about paying for multiplayer? I bought the game and havent seen ANYTHING in game relating to buy multiplayer, and i've gotten to level 7 on it.

if you got an 'online access' code card with the game, then you don't have to worry about paying for MP. If you didn't however, they are asking you to pay just for use of the MP feature. I played it, it's all right but if you don't pair up with other peeps that know what they're doing, it's a waste of time and you eventually lose. XD

CE editions of the game also got a code that gives you another suit (zealot advanced) and the force gun much earlier in the game in addition to MP access. I haven't redeemed that code yet but it also includes the MP as well.

If peeps bought this game used, there'd be no code and they have to pay to play MP. Not sure how much though.

Well I got it on steam, so I guess i'm all sweet :D

Gotta say, 25 hours of gameplay time, and i'm still loving it!

Exactly like Cerberus Network but I don't think MP costs as much as CN does.. though I could be wrong.

I've played through the game 4 times now... almost done with all of the achievements.. only have 3 left! :lol:

It's just too fun shredding 'morphs... I can't put it down!  :o:O

I rent alot of games, ecspecialy non-rpgs. Gamefly is $25 a month, so.............................................

This is a sad way for EA to 'make money' (as if they weren't). Now I know how the Cerberus people felt, but ME2 was a definate buy for me.

I'm going to start a Hardcore run tonight. Question, is it same damage/difficutly as Zealot, but with limited saves?

Yup, the only change from zealot is the save limit and no checkpoints obviously.

so i just beat DS2 and i was in awe... the entire end game was awesome... stunning visually.. and gameplay wise it was my favorite, having to run/dismember that regenerator necromorph through the whole end game... it keeps you on your toes!

and i loved the very last part with Isaac and Ellie.... priceless.... perfect timing for that...hahahah!

the only thing i was disappointed in was the final fight. i understand why they needed to but i think it could have been done a little better.

PS (did anyone watch til the end of the credits???)..... looks like there may be a Dead Space 3!!!

I think there should be a Dead Sace 3. Why not? It's an interesting universe. Plus, as the voices at the end said - there may be more markers in the galaxy. The game itself could have had mre characters but oh well. It's a great game. I hope that they'll make a part 3 :)
