So... ARE we going to see any Quarian's faces in ME3? I mean, they've been putting off revealing the answer to the mystery for two games now... I REALLY want to see what they look like... I'd also like to see a Volus but obv I'm more interested in Quarians.

I can't really imagine what they may look like, but I actually think their "placeholder" faces don't look so bad, I wouldn't mind if their "real" face looked something like this =]

Perhaps it is best left as a mystery. Don't get me wrong, I do sort of want to know what Tali looks like underneath the helmet but maybe the mystery adds to the attraction.

What I don't understand is why talimancers keep pulling up that fan made picture of tali if they still want the mystery.

It's said they are simian or primate like humans. Some people, including me, fear they will be revealed in ME3 as purple space elves.

Agreed, the asari are enough for the "too human-like aliens" claim. In the novels it said that quarian face is quite humanoid, but I hope everything else from the ears on should be more exotic. Plus, I'm on of those who likes Tali and quarians as characters as they are and I consider seeying her face a bonus, but not a necessity.

Having three fingers and chicken feet doesn't sound very simian to me though.

That is the quarian placeholder faces, kinda Ancient Egyptian-Greek looking.I'm imagine they would look like the Star Trek Vulcans, pale white/grey skin, white iris/black eyes, pointy ears and fur on their head instead of "hair"...

I was sort bummed they didn't reveal Tali's face as a reward for romancing her. I am hoping they reveal her face in ME3 or at least reveal another Quarian face, so I can get a visual prespective. I also am curious as to what a Volus looks like under their pressure suits.

I'm not aware of anywhere it's been said that they're simian or mammalian, just that they're similar to humans in appearance. With really different ears.

I think the best solution is to include the chance to see their face somehow in ME3, but it'd only be an optional moment.

Somehow, I don't know how, but somehow, there could be an optional conversation or cutscene where those who wanna see her face can, and those who don't can choose not to. Everyone wins.

I can see two mammal like features on all female Quarians to suggest they share some mammal like traits with humans.

They are more likely to be similar to Turians. They share the same DNA type , both have three fingers, and the two clawed toes. They aren't even likely remotely human looking. It seems like they might be the traditional BEM though. They seem to have large eyes and a nearly featureless face. Then again what you see through the visor might not be a true picture.

I guess the artist likes copying the drow from the D&D Forgotten Realms setting. LOL. I can't be the only one that thought that.

Just because Quarians and Turians have the same amino acid base doesn't mean that they will be similar physiologicaly. you have to keep in mind that Humans, salarians, Elcore and asari share the same amino base. and after examining the quarian skeletons on that one side mission I'd say that quarian facial features are more human. not that bioware couldn't retcon that if they wanted.

Those aren't placeholders. They are there to give their faces three-dimensional structure under the visor of the mask, rather than having shape of their noses and eyes painted onto the visor texture. Reading anything more than that into it is stretching the intent of the design team.

It does mean they should have more similarities than with humans. Their hands and toes are very close after all. Looking at the variability you mentioned then there is almost no chance they should look human. If things that share DNA look vastly different then that should be the answer to two species that don't  share similar DNA even more extreme diferentiation.

I know people want them to look human becaue they want to validate their romances with Tali. I'm saying they shouldn't get their hopes up. I think it would be a total cop out for BW to make them hot x different colored human under the mask.
