Maybe this only happens to me, but if I have buffs turned on, like say... Indomintable, or a Bard song, and a dialouge cutscene appears, my characters all glowing with their various buffs while they talk. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? O.o.
It is very odd and more than a little immersion breaking, and to be completely frank it is interfering with staring at Morrigan's rack whenever anyone is talking.
Are Buffs supposed to be visible during cutscenes?

Happens in my game too. Alistair is always glowing red in cutscenes because I've forgotten to turn off 'threaten'.

I also have this maybe they will remove it in a patch some time.
I'm too lazy to deactivate them all for every conversation and turn them on afterwards

It's especially bad with Bard songs, everyone is glowing with a purple mist, you can't even see Ohgren, he just looks like there is a bong next to my party overflowing with purple smoke.
I would love to see this fixed in a patch. If I know I'm going into a conversation and I'm not too lazy I will switch them all off but sometimes those cutscenes jump up on you and very dramatic scenes are sorta compromised by the fact that we all look like we're going Super-Saiyin or some ****.

Wait until you see the effect for the champion skill Rally. That one needs to be toned down in general.
Yes, I dearly hope they patch in something that disables this during conversations and cutscenes. It messes up screenshots too.

I love the fact that your buffs are persistent as well as blood. It just makes sense to leave this stuff visible in the cutscenes. It's not like they suddenly took a shower or the spell effects suddenly disappear for no apparent reason.
It doesn't need to be "fixed" since it's not broken. Add an option to change it maybe, but I doubt they accidentally added these graphics to the cutscenes.

The thing for me is, the spell effects are just "abstractions". I mean, Leliana's Song of Courage is supposed to be a ballad about how badass your party is. Except, instead of singing a song she screams like a barbarian and now everyone turns purple. Helluva song. The spell effects exist, I think, so you can tell at a glance who is being affected by what, or not, as the case may be.
As I said, there are a number of cutscenes that occur without warning so even if you wanted to turn your buffs of, you don't get a chance to. It is all a matter of personal taste I guess, but to me it takes a lot of drama out of the scenes when my dudes are all glowy. The blood I don't mind, but leaving spell effects on seems more like an oversight.

When you consider cooldowns and such; turning off an active skill during a cutscene could actually be bad when you consider cutscenes also happen during and before some major combats. I am happy, however, that they do remove helmets during most cut scenes (at least as far as dialog is concerned).
