I'll just take humans as an example.  Theres a reason why human males are attracted to certain physical traits they see on human females.  Slim waist / waist to hip ratio, large eyes, breasts, good skin, symmetry and etc...   If a particular female has these basic traits, it tells the male observer that this particular one is youthful, fertile and able to produce healthy offsprings. 

I don't expect the aliens to be any different.   Males/females must possess traits that are attractive to the opposite gender but since aliens are completely different from us.  It seems really silly to assume that their "sexiness" should be measured in our terms.

Things I would likely consider.  What are the traits that a female turian have that is deemed as an attractive to a turian male?  Or for that matter all aliens.
How does sexual selection work for them? 
How do they conceive?  Do they lay eggs (Salarians)
Or they go through a gestation period?  (humans, which explains for our wider hips)
How do they feed their newborns?  (humans breast feed)
Did they evolve from hunter-gatherer types like us?  And who does the hunting? 
What are their societies like and what role does each gender play in that society?
How do they communicate with each other and does this play a role in their sexual selection process?  (Elcor through pheromones, Hanar through bioluminescene)

In other words, because human children have an extended babyhood, and need feeding milk by the mother for longer, it extended the learning period of humanity. Which means that breasts did have a huge impact on the development of modern humans. And if it can happen here on Earth, it can possibly happen on other worlds.

Dam, I saw a funny picture of a Krogan with boobs a while ago but can’t find it again. Ah well.

I don’t think the whole Turains shouldn’t have boobs thing is over people feeling insecure about sexiness in video games

Allot of aliens would look silly with boobs especially the Turains and Krogans (assuming they look in some way similar to their male counter parts which they should) being that they don’t look mammalian and it just really doesn’t fit with the armoured plates and body structure they have. It would look utterly ridicules.  Drell, Batarians and possibly Salarians wouldn’t be so bad. Turians, Krogan, Hanar (just try to imagine that fo a sec lol) or Elcor would be stupid.

I personally am not opposed to aliens having boobs nor am I oppose to a little bit of eye candy in video games. Infact I like some eyecandy in games. Hell yeah, bring on those smexy athletic guys! However I would prefer that not all aliens where "sexy". Why? Having everything looking very human like and conforming to human sexual dimorphism is just boring and uninspired.
Aesthetics are important and this is fantasy, why would you need to purposefully make something truly ugly and unappealing? However things can be aesthetically pleasing without being ****** worthy. For example tigers are absolutely beautiful and look baddass but I wouldn’t want to sleep with one (Ew). Same goes for Turians (sorry Garrus your awesome but...no)
I also really really dislike it where the males of a fantasy race are awesome, savage and inhuman looking and the girls...look like humans with horns or some ****. ARGHHH. It is very immersion breaking for me and tends to put me off an entire game. I know that’s a bit stupid but it’s just a pet peeve of mine.
