As long as we don't spend longer than say 1/6 of the game there I don't think it will become problematic. However, if we do spend longer than that it could really cripple the story.

You think the Reapers are going to just call it quits after Earth and not attack anybody else? We'll probably spend most of the game convincing other races to fight for Earth, like recruitment missions, but for governments, I guess.

From EA store description it sounds terrible. Like if they are to repeat the WHOLE concept of ME 2 but instead of squadmates we are going to pokémon races and then launch suicide final mission on Earth.

I really hope thats not the case, but after ME 2 I wouldnt be surprised even if we defeated Reapers by brute force.

Not to mention that description from EA store is awfully all about humans. Humankind is at stake, Earth burns, lets gather everyone else to save humans... meh.

But I will wait for more info to judge it further.

hopefully this is only relevant in the trailer and in the game its self will be about the reapers killing all the species and going after all the main worlds,not just human and earth



and if not, maybe earth will just be some sort of"home base"or something

What makes you think the game will focus entirely on Earth? I suspect the Reaper attack won't even start until late in the game, and most of your time will likely be spent flying off around the galaxy trying to gather forces to defend the planet.

We've seen ONE teaser trailer, in which we see several Reapers descending to & attacking London, BUT we also see Shepard overlooking the carnage, then turning away.. how does this tell you that ME3 will be set on Earth??

...or maybe not. I hate Halo (& all Halo-like games, really). I played Mass Effect first. I still love Mass Effect 2...very much. Both games had their upsides and downsides. I expect Mass Effect 3 will be the same.

Because Shepard matters, and by extension, so do humans, and by extension, so does Earth.

It makes no sense to put the focus on another planet, too. People don't care about the turian homeworld, they care about their own.

Pretty much I think.  Even if the Reapers had ten thousand ships, it would take time to wipe out an entire planet.  Rather than split their fleet up too much, better to have them hop from planet to planet in a single massive armada than allow their ships to be picked off in smaller groups.

How does we even know it bases most of the game of earth? All we've seen is one short teaser trailer.

The whole "Earth is burning" is probably nothing more than marketing. Would a random person who's never played Mass Effect care if it said "Illium is burning"? No, they wouldn't. There's no attachment to Illium, there is for Earth.



The likelihood of ME3 being centered around Earth is slim. The core homeworlds will most likely be under attack, which would include Earth, but I doubt Earth will be the rallying point for the game. That would be the Citadel, seeing as it's the key to traversing the galaxy quickly and holds the information for all of the occupied planets.

I think the majority of the time would be spent visiting each races homeworlds, like Earth, Palaven, Beyond the Perseus Veil, Migrant Fleet, Tuchanka (wherever the Rachni are,) etc. Earth would probably would be the first and last, as we are not sure whether the attack has already begun, or we have time to prepare.
