I'd imagine you'll have to go around solving problems for all the major races so they can they fight the reapers, very little time will be spent on earth
What most worries me from the description. The perfect ending to this trilogy... an ME version of Dragon Age. Bah. I'd find that to suck pretty bad

I guess the idea is that Earth is the Reapers' first primary target. Vigil talked about a syatematic, slow destruction, as if they went from planet to planet. So maybe Earth is the only place under heavy attack for the time being.
I think this might be the case. I doubt they will spread their forces thin.

I hope that none or almost none of the game has anything at all to do with earth. For some reason, sci-fi games should be in outer space and other planets - earth should not be in the picture

It would be cool if they included the presidium again.

I think the game will work in that kind of way...
You will need to assemble each species of the galaxy to fight the reapers. But each of them will have problem to solve before helping you. Check Dragon Age : Origins or TESIV:Oblivion in that matter when you need to assemble an army.
So basicly recruiting the quarian is one mission where the Quarian decide to help you only if you help them retake their homeworld, but the Geth will contact you enventually and you will have to make a choice
1)recruiting the geth
2)recruiting the quarian
I imagine ME3 to be somehow similar to Dragon Age: Origins in term of story. Moving arround the galaxy recruiting as many ally as you can for the final battle where you will be able to sent like you did in the suicidal mission in ME2 army to secure orbit/ground/make a diversion move/send strike team to valuable objective. With epic video of faillure or sucess.
Maybe a litlle of Oblivion where you arrived at Palaven and the Turian fleet is already fighting Reapers scout ship and you need to assist them if you want them to join your fight.
At least i hope for something like. In ME2 you build up your squad, well in ME3 times to build up an army. (we should have upgrade available for our army too).

For the record, I don't consider undeveloped Reaper larva as living things. So Shepard actually only killed 1 Reaper, Sovereign, no?thegreateski wrote...

This time it's personal.

1. Sovereign
2. Brain-dead Reaper from long ago
3. Little baby Reaper on Collector base
There. 3 Reapers. Shepard is a baby-killer... A giant, flesh-eating, mechanical baby, but a baby nonetheless...
Shepard for president 2245!!!

Shep lead the fight against Sovereign. She did'nt really do the killing, she ****ed up the reapers plans.
2. Does'nt count. It was dead.
3. Alright. Baby Reaper counts.

(seriously how did this discussion get here)
It's not made entirely clear whether Shepard "killed" Sovereign or not. However the sequence shown in the game does suggest that when Shepard destroyed Sovereign's avatar, the entire ship went "limp", even its shield went down which allowed Joker to plunge his blue ball deep into Sovereign's crevices thus blowing it apart.LovesRamen wrote...

3. Alright. Baby Reaper counts.
In fact, one could infer that this is a weakness of Reapers. This would explain why Harbinger had to "disconnect" from the Collector General before it died. If Harbinger didn't do so it is entirely possible that it would have died along with the drone, upping the kill count to 4...
And the brain-dead Reaper totally counts. If you go into a hospital toady and unplugged a brain-dead patient on life-support, you would TOTALLY be charged with murder. And Shepard didn't just unplug the life support, Shepard shot the Reaper repeatedly in its heart!

No it wasn't. It might have been in a coma or some sort of vegetative state. Still, It was capable sustaining itself. Most of its functions were still active and it actively protected itself against Shepard's intrusion.LovesRamen wrote...
But the Reaper was dead already?
Most brain-dead patients can't even breath on their own, and definition of death might be different in the future. Brain death does not mean total destruction of the brain tissue, merely that enough trauma exists that it is beyond our ability to repair it. I'm sure if you connect the wires on the Reaper it would wake up and start wrecking havoc...
Or maybe it would wake up and realize the horror of its ways and befriended Shepard and aided him in his struggle against Reapers! Shepard just murder a potential ally (and totally awesome companion)! Shepard is EVIL! A
reaper-killing, baby-eating menace to the galaxy!

They want revenge.
Where do you get 3?
By my calculations it's only 1.
That person must be very new to the series or something.
The reaper from ME2 was not killed by shepard!
I mean seriosly? Hello!
In fact you killed 2 reapers, 1 in mass effect 1 and 1 in mass effect 2 (the human reaper).

Think about it, if ME3 is suppose to be the final game of the trilogy how will saving earth stop the Reapers? There has to be more to the ME3 story we dont know about yet.
You cannot guess a games storyline just by one trailer a year before its release.
