Mass Effect 3 on Earth...Realy?

I don't know why, but I'm assuming that the ME3 will not be as simple as going to various home planets (Palaven, Tuchanka, etc.) and convincing a species to pitch in. Rather, it will probably be more complicated than that. Plus, I can't help but think that discovering the origin of the Reapers will play a large role the plot of ME3.

The entire series has built up the Reapers to be a galatic threat to all species, not a planetary threat to one species. If Bioware decides to make ME3 similar to DA:O, recruiting armies for ONE place, ONE battle, they would fail in fulfilling the story they have built up these past few years.

Well i assumed Mass Effect 2 would be good...but i was wrong..
So by assuming Mass Effect 3 will suck maybe we will all get lucky!
That is completely based on opinion. The majority of players thought ME2 was good.
Yea Halo fans who played Mass Effect 2 first....
...or maybe not. I hate Halo (& all Halo-like games, really). I played Mass Effect first. I still love Mass Effect 2...very much. Both games had their upsides and downsides. I expect Mass Effect 3 will be the same.
I will be sending a friend request in the future...

Okay, I lied. I thought ME2 was a touch "better," but it was missing a lot of the things I really liked about ME1. As for Earth, if that really is all ME3's going to be about, I'm letting it burn. Too bad, Earthlings, but Shepard's moving to Bekenstein.
Yea!

As others have said, the game won't take place solely one Earth. In fact, the majority of the game won't take place on Earth either. I think having Earth as important in ME3 is a good call, though. We've spent two games exploring a universe that is very detailed and interesting, and Earth is a part of that universe. By saving it for the third game, we will now view the planet through a "Mass Effect" filter.

Why would they fly half way through the galaxy, passing many planets on the way just to get to us first?
-Firstly, the Sol system is pretty much on the outskirts of the Galaxy - just check your Galaxy Map for the Local Cluster;
-Secondly, you don't know in which direction of dark space the Reapers are coming from, therefore, it is entirely possible that the Local Cluster is the nearest cluster to their current location.
Add to it that the organic responsible for taking out two Reapers and their shock troops' base is a human *and* humanity is one of the four Council Races... you get a pretty decent bunch of reasons why Earth appears (note: you only have one trailer to base this on) to be the focal attack point.

I think that one of the key points of the game is whether to make it all about Earth or not. I mean, what if you were made to choose between sacrificing much or all of your home planet for a chance gather more resources to fight the reapers--or swoop in and get in the fray. If TIM is calling the shots, I /think/ he'd want your missions to be Earth-focused. If the Alliance is calling the shots, I would think the same way. If the Citadel is calling the shots, kiss our little blue sphere goodbye. If Shepard calls the shots, it is up to you. Not sure what would be the paragon or renegade choice here.
Paragon would definitely be "getting in the fray".

Then you are also saying you've made up your mind, if the most logical arguments you have already thought of and were mentioned until now aren't good enough for at least a "wait and see" approach, and are only looking for people who agree with you and nothing else, thus rendering all discussion useless, and indeed, the whole point of making a topic in a forum.mangeo wrote...

In other words, if nothing will waver your opinion, why even post it asking for someone to make sense of it?

Okay put it this way. If the trailer showed the Reapers attacking Thessia or Palaven would you still have the same concerns about the third game?

Make it about earth a little bit, bi-tchs whine about too much earth. Make it focus on the galaxy, bi-tches whine about not enough earth.
As for the OP. Your assumption of too much earth due to a teaser trailer is pathetic, go sit on the naughty step in shame sir S-H-A-M-E

I think its funny that from day day one (Mass Effect-Mass Effect 2) i have been reading the complain that we do not get to visit Earth, now that its almost confirmed that atleast a small part of Earth will be focused on in Mass Effect 3 and we will be there, people are complaining about it. In my opinion this shows that the Dev team actually took all those complaints and implemented them into the series, atleast thats how i see it.
The main point of the grief isn't that they're including Earth in ME3, in fact I think most people loved that. The problem is that Earth is apparently being given such special attention by the Reapers and being the main focus of the story.

Although that London trailer was probably Drew Karpyshyns final idea or something....

Aye, but London looks pretty much bombed. By the time Shepard arrives on Earth it could be destroyed and we have to regroup in New York. Basically they could be trolling us.

Yes, the third game is all about Earth because Earth was featured in the teaser. Just like ME2 was all about Legion, since he was featured in the ME2 teaser.
What? It's flawless logic!
