I dont actualy think that the entire game will be based on Earth.....
Just most of it (read the description again)
& Bioware is all about the money now as evidenced by Mass Effect 2
& games based on Earth make money!

Halo makes this a epic fail discussion.

If i am talking to a bunch of people who were turned on to the series by the second game then
i am wasting my time.....
If you liked Mass Effect 2 more than ME1 than you do not understand the series
or at least what it should have been before EA took over & Bioware made themselves a stupid
turd person shooter & ruined the series...

I can't believe how both hilarious and depressing your posts manage to be...

Almost every post of yours is somehow connected to your opinion that ME1 is the superior game of the two and everybody who begs to differ "doesn't understand the series". Now there's nothing wrong with liking ME1 more than ME2 but when you start insulting people who have different opinions and placing yourself and your opinions above theirs it completely takes away all your credibility.

You are complaining how people attack you by stating their thoughts that are different from yours but the only one in this thread who is attacking is you. You should really take a look in the mirror.

i find it funny that fans wanted earth and yet they still complain when they get it i still would like to know how people can just assume its only on earth. either the people who post threads are new or they really jump the gun. the game is 11 months away so please quite withthe omg games gona only focus on earth.

Yeah, totally true. I dont mind going to Earth. I want to to see Earth. And Arcturus station too.

What so bad about it. Its pretty logical to me. After all Harby kept shouting something like ,,your species have attention of those infinitely greater" after Shepard.
They are just really obsessed by Shepard right? So its logical they will try to attack human homeworld (you know it can make Shepard really angry.), people and planet which caused them so many problems.  Juts to have us out of way, have Shepard out of their way, so they can move somewhere else and finish what they started thousands years ago.
And no it wont by only about Earth.

Bioware just wants to play with us. Its what teasers were meant for.

I'm certainly glad we finally get to see Earth, but I don't like the impression given by the game synopsis which states that the game revolves around rallying support to take back Earth...

I thought the focus was on saving the galaxy, not *just* Earth.

Aside from other concerns about ME 3 this is my biggest one. Desription of game is making ME 3 sound like DA:O in space only with Ferelden being Earth. I certainly didnt picture something like that to be ending of this trilogy after ME 1.
Not to mention that my canon Shep doesnt care about Earth :D

I'll admit that the PR is worrying, I certainly don't want the entire focal point to be earth. However, I just can't see that happening, your going to have to travel around to god only knows where, otherwise the Normandy, Joker, EDI, all that stuff becomes almost meaningless if you stay on earth, and there has been way too much time invested in those things and characters by Bioware for that to happen. Space travel is a critical point of the series, I'll eat a small boulder if we aren't hopping all over the universe.

May I present an alternate theory as to what the trailer could suggest? London Jeff, Big Ben, or whatever you want to call him, talks about millions being dead, and that similar reports are coming in from around the world, if this is true, things are real bad already, and Shepard isn't there yet.

Consider the fact that Bioware likes to start it's games with major defeats. KOTOR, ME 1, ME 2, DA: Origins, all being recent examples of this. Combine this with the idea that trailers usually only show early to mid story concepts and not end game scenarios, throw in the actual information from the trailer, and I suggest to you that it is possible that Earth is lost sometime in the first third of ME 3, wiped out by the Reapers despite your efforts.

Sound unlikely? Maybe, but there is just as much evidence to support this claim as there is to support the whole game is taking place on, around, and about earth. So let's just take a deep breath, calm down, and wait until we have a little more information before worrying about it, either way.

Well I'm actually eager to see Earth in Mass Effect 3. I was disappointed that we couldn't visit it in 1 or 2...

The only PR BioWare has released is a teaser trailer and a short press release, I honestly don't see how this could lead to the conclusion that Mass Effect 3 is going to remove the exploration or is somehow going to only be on Earth. They have not said that it takes place only on Earth, or that the majority of the game takes place on Earth.

Firstly, there is probably other evidence that you could present from the first two games to dismantle this theory. The focus on gathering allies from the PR, the hints of bringing together various species (quarians, geth; as interpreted from Mass Effect 2), not to mention the fact that BioWare wouldn't just remove the galactic exploration and UNC missions to place you on Earth for the majority of the game.

This reminds me of the teaser trailer from Mass Effect 2 - Shepard is dead? He can't be dead! BioWare has lied to us! These were conclusions that were jumped to after the first ME2 trailer - it turned out Shepard was alive, it turned out he was not a geth after all. The PR from Mass Effect 2 also left out a significant portion of the game, I would say they are doing even more so for this one. Relax, and wait for more to come out before we know what is going to happen.

No one should be worried that the whole game will take place on Earth - I don't know where anyone is getting that idea from :/

But, due to the game's synopsis, there is a valid concern that the game will culminate in saving Earth rather than the galaxy (or at least that saving the galaxy will feel secondary, rather than primary).

Pretty much. Shepard is the first being in existence to destroy not just one Reaper, but multiple.

I'm not sure about you guys, but if, after twenty trillion years of immortal existence, we get a few of our God Machines killed by the new kid on the block, I'd be pissed off like nothing else.

The Wrath of God, my friends. The Wrath of God is coming for Earth.

I would be the first to jump and say that ME1 > ME2 for a number of reasons. But this thread is retarded, you have no idea how ME3 will turn out to be nor that it would be solely based on Earth. God, the forums are filled with kids those days.

Not a kid actualy...
& i could say the same about you calling my forum "Retarded".
Although you obviously havent read the progression of the conversation.
If you had you would have seen that i am just worried that it may end up on earth 80% of
the game based on the series current track record of making money instead of art.....
Wouldnt it be lame if it were based on earth most of the game though?
Thats what this forum is for our worries about the possible situation...
