Basically their plan is to wipe out humanity.

But they had opportunities to do that several times where they just refused to.

Like with New Caprica.  Wholesale slaughter instead of ruling over them would have been the "wipe out humanity" route.

No, they had no plan beyond the blowing up of the original colonies - and that was in the pilot mini-series.  And EVEN THAT you learn the Cylons were not all in agreement on that exact course of action and there was much in-fighting.

The plan was that there was no plan.

That was just part of it.  Another part was Cavil's existential revenge trip against his creators (the "Final Five").

The Cylon plan was basically a convoluted mess. Still loved the show, however.

Basically after the pilot happened the Cylons (and humans, for that matter) were improvising. Their actual plan predates the timeline of the series. The titles are misleading because they imply that everything occurring during the series is going according to plan, when even The Plan makes it really obvious that no - no it didn't.

2. He CAN die, but his death is ONLY an epilogue death, and DG has said that can be easily explained away.

That's really cheap. He died surrounded by Darkspawn, they found his body. They better not try to explain anything away. If he appears, I hope it's as a temporary companion before the Awakening timeline, or maybe as a non-companion character in certain situations.

I can't see Anders returning to Ferelden to be a Warden after going to the Free Marches. Then again, Kirkwall is ruled by templar, pratically.

It could be Anders. He joins Hawke before the events of DA:A and leaves when DA:A starts, and if he dies in DA:A he doesn't return, if he doesn't die he returns. I think this would be a really bold step for BioWare to take, and it's probably the best way to use the save imports.

P.S: Anders doesn't need to be a GW.

So he joins during Origins and leaves before Awakening? Thats like less than a year. In Hawke Time, thats like an hour of gameplay time. Sorry, if it is Anders, its not like that

maybe anders is Alistair's half brother. i seem to remember it being all but confirmed that Alistair isn't the illigitimate kid Maric had by the mage in the second DA book.

I'm pretty sure Gaider said Anders and Alistair are of no relation.

well then there goes that theory. unless Gaider was under blood control by Anders not to reveal his secrets?!

arbitrary baseless theory powers activate!

I could be imagining things. I'll attempt to dig up the quote, but it could have been (if it existed) in a completely unrelated thread from that topic.

The intro for every episode of the recent Battlestar Galactica series said that the Cylons "had a plan" -

but by the end of the series you realize that they really did NOT have a plan. It was just a catchy thing for the title sequence.

They had no plan.

Like the writers of Lost.

Thank you a great deal. I appreciate the answer. :)

I know that Merrill is taken as a given on these forums because of her appearance in the video, but keep in mind that we haven't officially announced her yet, either. As for the order and number of character announcements to come, for that you will have to wait and see. There is a Plan.

Paranoia. I keep staring at that word.

It was just speculation, and it's more than a year. Doesn't Awakening take place 6 months after DA:O, + DA:O events ?

A potentially permanent companion dies in the first 45 mins of the game, why not this :P
