From what I've been reading Dead Space 2 is only about 7 hours long. Not worth $60 to me.

You seem to not realize DS2 is ment to be played multiple times over. Turning your 7 hours into about 14 hours. More or less. Also, the length of a game doesn't make it better (or worse).

Last I heard DS2 was ~12 hours. It's longer than the origional.

Then as mentioned above there's the possibility of multiple playthroughs, plus there's multiplayer now too.

Actually the reviews says about 10-12 hours, on top of that you got a fully fleshed out multiplayer.

But even if the game was 7 hours without multiplayer I would still buy Dead Space 2 because Dead Space was so effin awesome, and from videos, Dead Space 2 looks to take it even further!

DS2 is awesome, the gameplay is much smoother than the original, and it is a LOT scarier.  Plus they give you extra incentives for finishing the game, extra armors, guns and such.

The story is really the high point for me, and gameplay is just icing on the cake.

Sounds good, but honestly I never played Dead Space for the story, I played it for those moments where you're sitting in the dark, with your surround sound headsets with volume cranked up, almost about to **** yourself, walking down a corridor hearing metal janking, monsters crawling in the dark.

I only played Dead Space for 10 minutes when I first played it, because it made my physically ill because it was so scary lol.

Welp, EA completely made up for the fact that the armor can't be used on my platform of choice. I have to say, their customer service is exemplary.

Yeah, I only grew a quad when I found out that DS2 was coming out soon and picked a very bright day to play it.  Turns out it wasn't a bad choice, it was fun.

Really the gore-factor wasn't too too bad.  Somewhere between Starship Troopers and Event Horizon.

EDIT: (Come to think of it, it might surpass Event Horizon).  :D

I often got Isac killed in DS1 on purpose just so I could witness the brutal death animations, I plan to do the same in DS2

Hey I just got my copy of Dead Space 2 from pre-order and 'lo and behold, there was my code for the Dragon Age 2 Isaac Clarke armour inside of it. So I'm posting a little "competition" for it in the DA2 general discussion. I think its fun, check it out if you wish.

Say I bought the PS3 version, does that mean I can't download the armor if I bought the 360 version of DA2?

Yes that's exactly what it means.

Xbox 360 and PC codes crosswork.
PS3 only works by itself. aka you need both DS2 and DA2 on PS3 for this to work.

Could someone possibly contact EA customer support about this issue?  Since you are buying the game in the promotion, and it isn't explicity said in the offer that it cannot work cross-platform, I think someone has a case for EA to grant you the PS3 armor if you bought the 360 verson of the DS2.

They should. I don't get how you could get a code for the Mac/PC and 360, but not PS3, and vice vera. Espeically since you might have your imports on the 360, but bought Dead Space 2 for the PS3 to get Extraction.

The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 comes with the Blood Dragon armor right on the disc with no additional downloading required.

That makes me wonder if the PS3 version of Dragon Age even has the blood dragon armor code assuming the codes on PS3 games are not cross platform like they are on the Xbox 360/PC versions.

I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere in this thread (there's a lot of posts), but I didn't get a code for the armor with my copy. Did they say how exactly we get it?

If you're on the PS3 there is no code.
If you are not on the PS3, then I suggest contacting EA support as it should have been included.

Those instructions apply to the PS3 versrion of DS2 ONLY. If you get a boxed copy of DS2 for PC or 360 you get a code to redeem and if you get a digital version of DS2.....well.....you get nothing.

no platform is specified anywhere in that email, PS3 or otherwise.

Amazon has good service to the point of absurdity. They just issued me a 2 cent discount on Dead Space 2 in accordance with their pre-order price guarantee.

Also, I'm glad to hear that EA support is helping people here with the cross-platform issue.

But you don't see the whole thing either and the full details are already out.....it ONLY applies to the PS3 version.

Thanks for that link. Next question, if I play Dead Space 2 on PS3, but Dragon Age 2 on PC, and I sol?

edit: I don't thnik so actually. I'm guessing as long as my PSN is synched with the same EA account that I'll sing into with DA2 it'll be fine... I hope.

Of course I saw the whole thing.  It's in my inbox.  I'm the guy who posted the cropped image...

Nowhere on that email, dated yesterday, does it say that it only applies to the PS3 version.   The PS3 isn't mentioned at all, anywhere on that email.  And beyond that nowhere does it state that you need to purchase a boxed retail copy (which is where my interest comes in, as a digital customer).

If it does apply only to the PS3, well, then they need to be a bit more careful in the future.  Because I'd think that email borders on false advertising.  And, well, I'd wonder why they're sending me PS3 emails, as a customer who only has PC games registered with EA.

And where are these "full details"?  I haven't come across any kind of official statement from EA or BW or Visceral or anybody else.

It would be nice to get some confirmation either way...

Either way, it's not like there's a rush.  DA2 doesn't come out for more than a month.

EDIT: Added link to full email (had to be resized slightly to fit it all onscreen):

I don't get this with my signature edition? Then I will cancel my order right now, buy the cheapest verion I can find and BioWare can stuff their promotional DLC where I can't see it. Dragon Age: Origins was the last time I payed for a CE and didn't get everything there is.

Or am I overreacting and will I get it?

I can't tell if this is a serious post or not. If it is, then no you do not get it and yes you are overreacting. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]

It's a Dead Space 2 promotion so why on earth would you be entitled to it if you're not purchasing Dead Space 2? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie]

Also, you're not paying for any of the bonus content in the SE. It's free.
Don't know about where you are, but the SE was actually cheaper than the regular edition is here.
