Don't worry man, if you play Dead Space 2 it will show up in your promotions (took about 2 days for it to show up in mine).

Sorry, the same doesn't go for the PC digital version, but maybe what they're doing with the PS3 version is testing in preperation for future digital games.

Hopefully they won't screw you over like this in the future...

Well it's working for me, but it might take a while before it works for everyone. You also might need to sign up where you get hindsight again, but I didn't have to.

As I have already mentioned on this thread, I'm one of the folks who has got stiffed out of the armour...purely because I bought the game on Steam. I just wanted to respond to quite a few posters who are basically blaming those who bought the Steam version for not doing enough research and therefore implying it's our own fault.

A) This armour download was only mentioned recently...a long time after many people had already pre-ordered (and pre-paid for!) the game.

B) The wording in the release does seem to suggest that purchasers of Dead Space 2 will get the DLC, it does not categorically say that digital purchasers will not get it. Therefore, people could reasonably be expected to be a little pissed off, to find that they are in fact not going to get it.

(I'm buying Dead Space 2, because I loved the first one, by the way, not because of a bit of DLC for DA2. I just think this situation is unfair and I can't think of any reason why a code could not have been included with the Steam version, much like a CD key reminder pops up when you first launch a newly bought Steam game.)

Not only did the game arrive a day early, I got the armor. :D
Yay for pre-orders, especially considering the price has gone up since I purchased it!

My copy of Dead Space 2 arrived today but the code sheet says "Offer only good on Xbox 360", I'll be buying DA2 on the PC so I assume I can't use it?

No, you can.

No idea why it says that but both PC and Xbox are unlocked if you use either a PC or Xbox 360 redemption code. :)

In this case it isn't a Steam thing - from what people have said, it appears that no digital download purchase came with it, whether from Steam or anyone else.  I don't know why that is, to be honest; it seems bizarre.

Not that I mind given that I'll never play DA2 on the PS3 but the way my promotions stand now the Hindsight belt it's still only a PC/Mac/360 thing.

From what I've been reading Dead Space 2 is only about 7 hours long. Not worth $60 to me.

Actually the reviews says about 10-12 hours, on top of that you got a fully fleshed out multiplayer.

But even if the game was 7 hours without multiplayer I would still buy Dead Space 2 because Dead Space was so effin awesome, and from videos, Dead Space 2 looks to take it even further!

DS2 is awesome, the gameplay is much smoother than the original, and it is a LOT scarier.  Plus they give you extra incentives for finishing the game, extra armors, guns and such.

The story is really the high point for me, and gameplay is just icing on the cake.

Look at the posts in the official forum. In the below thread about 5 people said they finished it between 7-8 hours. Faster on next game plus.

http://forum.ea.com/...st/4733561.page

I think I'll still get the game though. I tend to play cautiously and explore everything and the game does look cool. I'll probably play around with telekinesis more than is necessary too. :)  And maybe EA will reconsider and make DLC for the pc version instead of just the console.

Bought my copy on steam and I am quite upset about the pre-order thing...

I believe it should be clearer as to what "play DS2 and get Isaac Clarke's armor today" means, as it's not so much about playing it as it is about getting it for the right platform from the right distributors.

Steam even has news on the item under DS2 (although this is not a fault on Bioware's behalf).

This seems like it might have been a rushed project of sorts.

Well Dead Space & Dragon Age have a lot in common too, like the gallons upon gallons of blood in the games.

The armor show up under game promotions now, but only for the PS3, which is not the platform I'll be buying DA2 on. But EA customer service already made up for the lack of cross-platform armor. :D

Mass Effect 3 won't be out for a while longer.  Expect ME3 promotions in EA games coming out a month or two prior to ME3.

Bought Dead Space 2 but do not see a code for Sir Isaac's Armor in the box. Does it get unlocked as you play the game?

I wish I knew about this before I bought the PS3 version of Dead Space 2, what with having the 360 version of Dragon Age 1 and all. I'm gonna guess the promotion doesn't apply across consoles, and though it looks cool as hell it's just nowhere near worth missing out on the carry over content from 1.

Hehe.. Steam. Rule #3 has officially been added to the "warnings" involved with Steam games...

Rule 1: ALWAYS check in an upcoming game's forums to find out if it will be a Steam game. (Especially if you are blindly pre-ordering it and expect to play it at 12:01AM release day)

Rule 2: If the game is indeed a game that forces you to play thru Steam, ensure that the game is being 'unlocked' by Steam at 12:01AM on release day if that is when you intend to play it. MANY games that were forced to play through Steam have pissed off a lot of people when they waited in line to purchase a game at midnight, only to find out that they can't play it until 3AM, or worse, 3 days later!

New! Rule 3: If you are purchasing a game digitally, especially on Steam, for bonuses that the game unlocks within a different game (and possibly dabbling in the game you're purchasing), do one of the following things to ensure that you get what you're paying for: 1. Call a psychic (preferably Miss Cleo) to find out if everything involving your purchase will turn out proper. 2. Check out forums like this to ensure you actually get the content. 3. Don't do 1 or 2 and buy the game, blindly following the company's advertisements, and gain a special buff called "Got Screwed Over, And Wasted Money (Rank 10)".

Rule #3 applies to this topic. (Purchasing DS2/DA2 via Steam is optional)
I paid my $60 for the armor retail :) GL to the Steam buyers who wanted it!
Happy game shopping!
