Hehe.. Steam. Rule #3 has officially been added to the "warnings" involved with Steam games...
Rule 1: ALWAYS check in an upcoming game's forums to find out if it will be a Steam game. (Especially if you are blindly pre-ordering it and expect to play it at 12:01AM release day)
Rule 2: If the game is indeed a game that forces you to play thru Steam, ensure that the game is being 'unlocked' by Steam at 12:01AM on release day if that is when you intend to play it. MANY games that were forced to play through Steam have pissed off a lot of people when they waited in line to purchase a game at midnight, only to find out that they can't play it until 3AM, or worse, 3 days later!
New! Rule 3: If you are purchasing a game digitally, especially on Steam, for bonuses that the game unlocks within a different game (and possibly dabbling in the game you're purchasing), do one of the following things to ensure that you get what you're paying for: 1. Call a psychic (preferably Miss Cleo) to find out if everything involving your purchase will turn out proper. 2. Check out forums like this to ensure you actually get the content. 3. Don't do 1 or 2 and buy the game, blindly following the company's advertisements, and gain a special buff called "Got Screwed Over, And Wasted Money (Rank 10)".
Rule #3 applies to this topic. (Purchasing DS2/DA2 via Steam is optional)
