How many are pre-ordering and how many are waiting to see stability?

Ok, just found this post by Chris Priestly:
Correct. The Signature Edition will NOT be sold after tomorrow.
We will likely sell the Sig Ed items as DLC or items (like the soundtrack) seperately. I think the Sig Ed page says $20 of value for free if you get teh Sig Ed edition, so that should be roughly what it will cost.
So, it's all good by the sound of things. I hope this includes the Digital Armory too.
If i purchase the GOTY edition or the Ultimate edition in 8 month with all the patch during a steam deal for half the price you paid . Not only i will play a superior product than you did for 3 time the price but i will have the opportunity to enjoy something that been collecting dust for you for the last 7 month.
The only thing you had over me .. The first week of Hype ..
I'm still in fact waiting for New vegas .. I don't regret it at all . New vegas was a mess at launch.
i just hope for you that DA2 won't dissapoint you .. Such a waste of money.
*waiting for review*
Waiter always win . When you throw your money it's just won't come back.

And what happens if you get crushed in a car wreck in 6 months?
You can say DA2 will be shelved in a month, maybe it will be for you. But DA:O has been out for a hair longer than that, and I just finished another playthrough of it.
Go ahead and wait. If you're not that big of a fan of the franchise, waiting is probably the best bet for the very reasons you said. But that's not what I plan to do... money isn't important to me. I'll pay extra to get what I want sooner.

Not pre-ordering as I'm far from convinced DA2 is a game for me. Less content, higher price + more "actionny" doesnt inspire confidence.
Guess I'll probably end-up with GOTY edition a year after launch or so.

DAO hardly crashed at all for me. Lots of RAM seems to help these issues a lot.

The mistake with this rationale is that you are extrapolating your gameplay habits to others.
Me, for example, I have gotten an insane amount of value out of DA:O. I have probably replayed the game once a month. But that's because I really like it. It's why I bought it. I only buy games that I plan to replay several times (otherwise I'd just rent the console version).

I bought DAO originally for my son. Then with the UE came out, I bought it for myself. I've played the game 14 times since then which tells you how much I enjoy it. I'm hoping I get that much enjoyment of out DA2.

Also I got no worries about stability. I've never had DAO crash on me, I've had ingame bugs, but every game has that pretty much.

In six or seven playthroughs of DA:O (on two different computers) I've had five crashes, and two of them were caused by a mod, so i don't recognize the instability problem.
To be honest I didn't even know people were having problems (haven't even visited the tech-support forum).
