I believe many think the PC version is the best of the ones out there anyhow.

As for it being best, that's all about preference. I had the option to play on PC, but I chose 360 because I can't play shooting games on PC.

Also I bought the game on my friend's Steam account as my laptop cannot run any games, so me playing Mass Effect 2 would mean me taking his laptop again and I have the option of PS3 which is easily accessible due to the familiarity with console controls and the headache of being able to run the game in the first place, I do not think the PC is the best version.
So bioware if you can through us a bone. My copy hasn't arrived yet and I will play it multiple times, so even if it isnt ready immediately you can still work on it.

I finished ME1 on PC & 360 and I finished ME2 on PC & 360. I prefer PC version over the consoles' version, but I prefer PS3 over 360 and wished I could import the PC save file to the PS3.
If BioWare can't do that for the PC/X360 it is not possible for the PS3 users saddly. PC and Xbox 360 save are not even compatible. So its safe to say that PS3 save are like the one from the PC and Xbox 360 too.

As for PC being "superior" your opinion, I hate playing a game on computer, other than a RTS.
A PS3 is 300$. A good gaming computer, which would not last long since game are evolving so fast, would cost around 2000$ And again, The difference is just not that great. This is my opinion of course.

Well, not gonna happen. There never cross platform cooperation, fanboys and companies are making sure of that.

Might be $2000 but it's not just for gaming: video editing, audio editing, graphical development, "Office" related processing, software development, etc. and gaming. So it's well invested money. Btw, did you know you can create UT3 mods on PC and have them play on the PS3 version? It's officially supported. Google it.

My ps3 is jailbroken so I think I'm going to mess around with the files a bit and see if I can get it to load my PC shep.

I think that the reason you can't do this move saves to PC on 360 and vs versa is more about the closedness of the 360 platform. If you copy your saves from a PS3 onto a flash drive, you can see them on a PC and vice versa. It would be trivial for someone to put their PC save on a flash drive and read the flash on a PS3. All ME2 on PS3 would need to do is know how to read the save.

Portal 2 has cross-platform co-op. All platforms except 360, though. People on Macs, PCs and PS3s can play together.Malakar1 wrote...

Exceptional, but it exists. I hope for PS3 fans that BioWare is considering cross-platform save file management.
But judging by the reduced file size of the game I'm guessing all sidequests that only exist when you have an ME1 file were removed.

You don't need a jailbroken PS3 to do it. Unreal Tournament III on PS3 could run mods created on the PC. So if they really wanted to, Bioware could probably get it to work.

Obviously Bioware could make an application that you could use to upload a save file from the PC version of ME1 and then convert and import it into the PS3 or Xbox version of ME2. It's certainly possible. However, you have to remeber that in the end there are only a handful of players that would benifit from such a service and that developing it would most likely take significant amounts of time and resources. It's just not worth it for Bioware. I'd really like to use my PC ME1 saves in my PS3 version of ME2 as well, but I doubt it's ever gonna happen.
I would love to importy my PC ME1 save too. So that makes two people. How many more does this need to benefit before Bioware spends the resources to make it work?

You do realise that the Xbox is nothing more than a low end PC with custom firmware and OS?
Thats why the PC is superior. You can do what YOU want with YOUR hardware. Its only as low end as you allow it to be, rather than letting a 3rd party dictate what can and cant go onto PC architecture.
Edit: PS3, from memory, runs on Risc architecture, the same architecture which used to power the Macs until Apple gave up that line of hardware.

Of course, it's not ME 1 PC to 360/PC, but it's as close as you'll get.
If someone could tell me what container the saves on the PS3 are stored in, I could look into figuring out how to get PC/360 saves onto the PS3. Of course, it would help if I still had my PS3. >_>

Uh guys, you CAN import your Mass Effect 2 save from PC to 360 and vice-versa. It just takes a little technical know how. I can detail it in this thread if you want.

I could see future games saving in the cloud ("sweet" little DRM right there) and people being able to use the saves across platforms (Valve announced it, Microsoft demoed it and I doubt EA would stay behind for long), but we are not there yet. We probably wont be there by the time ME3 is released and no-one is going to return to ME1 to add such feature.
