Hi folks

This was a big week for Mass Effect. Not only did Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 ship, issue #1 of the new Dark Horse comic Mass Effect Evolution went on sale.

To help celebrate both events, I stole some time with Mass Effect 2&3 Lead Writer Mac Walters (who also wrote both of the Mass Effect comics with Dark Horse) to ask him questions abotu the story of Mass Effect, how the new interactive motion comic found at the start of ME2 on PS3 worked and what went into making the new Mass Effect Evolution comic with Dark Horse. I even tried to sneak in a Mass Effect 3 question, just to see what Mac would say.

Hey Chris,



If we wanna be strictly technical, the interactive comic on the PS3 isn't a motion-comic. There is no animation involved in any of the illustrations on the panels, not even camera moves have been incorporated. Nothing's actually moving other than masks hiding the other panels.



Yes. I nitpick. But with all the other motion comics by the big two and other ambitious startups, some kinda tend to have this first impression expectation thing.

Just got about 2 minutes in and I have to say something. The Reapers don't wipe out all organic life, just space-faring civilizations that are using the Mass Relays. I would hope the lead writer for the series would be able to keep that straight.

Seems his speciality is creating new and unpredictable plot-holes. Its and art onto itself spending years working on a game as lead writer and getting the lore wrong.

Yes... so... I hope that the subtitle of ME3 isn't going to be, "The Adventures of The Illusive Man and Shepard." 

Less of Mac Walters' Mary Sue, more of those compelling human squadmates from ME1, plzkthx.

Hell,  I'm not a hardcore fan of A & K but I'd like to know too.  I'd prefer a better response than herp derp, Jade Empire didn't sell well because there was a woman on the cover!!

Jade Empire didn't sell because it was released too close to the release of the Xbox 360.

At least, that's what I tell myself.
