So in other words, there's not going to be any way for us to change our female companions out of their hooker outfits into something a bit more sensible for combat, just like in Mass Effect 2?

Great.

There is always Aveline, she seems almost always appropriately dressed for a brawl.

I'm glad it works this way

No more clown outfits for my companions

It always was a pain equipping them.

The more I hear about the changes to this the less I like. It seems yet again they are taking the RPG out of an RPG. It wasn't SO bad with ME2 since ME1 was mostly a shooter... But DAO was a pure RPG. It seems that DA2 is going to be a hack and slasher, and not much of an RPG.

I hope you at least can get different outfits for party members, like in ME2.

Just one extra armour choice for companions would satisfy me, even if it's available only in a DLC. I was so relieved to be able to get rid of Miranda's high heels. I had imagined there was some sort of armour weave built into her white catsuit but, try as I might, I couldn't explain away those stupid heels. Thank God that's fixed.

At least we'll have the runes to explain the DA2 girls' use of skimpy battle outfits. Anything to help with the suspension of disbelief...

one of the main draws of rpg games is customisation and I dont just mean stat wise or skill wise but also the look and feel of your characters.. In a way i see the why's behind your companions armour remaining a fixed look but personally I think its lazy, Now if I dont like the way a person looks im stuck with it (no female rogues implied) sure they have comprimised by allowing your main character to be fully customized, but im going to miss having a party look the way I like

Of course they will do that. I mean hey, EA and bioware need the nickle and dime DLC :P

Yeah. I mean this is an rpg. But i gess bioware keeps making sequels where the RPG part of it doesn't matter anymore.

I'm not really a fan of this either, but it might depend on how they handle it in game. Finding cool new gear is one of the three key reasons people play these games - along with the story / quest, and levelling up. Those regular 'rewards' are what makes RPGs so addictive. I usually play a mage but still think of all the armour quests (Juggernaut, Sentinel, LOTD, etc) in the first game and expansion where I was interested in completing them because I could still use them to improve other members of my party - and swap them from character to character as I changed party members.... If I play a mage in this game, and can't 'use' this stuff, what do I do? sell it? That's pretty mundane end to a quest, you know?

It's probably aimed at making the game simpler for some people, as trying to figure out jbenefits and trade offs from different armour sets was quite difficult, but I'm skeptical this solution is the answer. Still, we'll see.

I sort of agree.  I really like to just worry about what MY character has equipped sometimes

I liked it actually.  I didn't always have to worry about my inventory being full and wearing goofy armor

I honestly think Mage Hawke's Armor looks the best. I like how to one arm is covered with the armor, plus it looks nice, not too bulky, but not too small

i just want to be able to wear the mage armor with all the classes, it is significantly cooler than the other two versions and along with theNCR ranger armor from New Vegas and (sentimentally) power armor from Fallout , the coolest armor i have ever seen in a video game.

doubt that will have though...i do like that they set a toggle for your cap so you can wear it for bonuses but not have to see it.
