I am having trouble loading my mod into the server. I have no idea where the problem lies. If someone could give me some ideas and how to test I would be greatful. I am new to all this so try to keep it simple.

Thanks.

Check the server log (%temp%\\NWN2, for the user you ran the server as). Common problems include issues such as missing a hak file or putting the hak/module in the wrong place.

From what you have posted i have no idea where you are having a problem. It sounds like you need a complete tutorial almost since you don't provide any real details, but if you want help with your situtation you need to be a lot more specific. ( like describe step by step what you've done and the response it's giving you ).

I set this information page on starting a PW up a long time ago, it should cover the basics, but the talk about PWC files, worldgate, and audolo is now obsolete. Regardless it covers a lot of configuration options about how to run the server.

For the autodownloader read these guides which should be in your NWN2 application folder already. There also is a visual guide on the vault.

As for more questions, i would get on IRC and ask there. ( there are instructions here ) If you are running a PW you will learn you kind of always want to be in that IRC channel.

I would suggest reading all of the above material as if you run a PW that is pretty much the basic stuff, and it will make it a lot easier to help you.

Thanks for the replies and links to help.

Here is something that might be causing the mod not to load. When I verify the mod in the toolset I have errors in some scripts. Would this be enough to stop it from loading? Should I delete the scripts?

Thoughts?

How big is your module and what are your system specs?

Currently the mod is roughly 700MB with 12 areas.
System specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
2.19 GHz, 1 GB ram
Windows XP SP 3

700 mb with just 12 areas?

Your system is never going to be able to run a server.  1 gb of ram?

Scripts can cause crashes, but so can running out of memory. I think the latter is more likely your problem. Trying loading the same module with half the number of areas you've got and see what happens. You look awfully close to maxing out that 1GB.

You can also test the module w/o any scripts to rule out a script issue.

80 megs per area? Definitely a ram issue. I would remove all the areas except for one ( use a duplicate module so you don't do any real damage ), then try it with that.

Just for your information, i have a module with about 60 areas, and is pretty well developed and it takes up 1 gig on the hard drive, which makes your module 5 times the size of mine. My largest areas take up about 40 megs each. Note that i HAVE to use directory mode to avoid problems, and the server only uses half of that since a good chunk is just for the toolset. The server has 2 gigs of ram, but it also is dedicated and is not competing with a client.

I don't think your scripts having an issue would cause an issue, however i would also say REMOVE all scripts from your module, put them in the override folder on your server, as well as any blueprints.

I would side step module size issues and just use one area until you get it working, then after that add in areas. I would also review this guide on Exterior Area Quality Guidelines which covers how to make areas which don't create headaches for you or your players.
