I know this is EA's attempt to push sales for Dead Space 2, but they didn't think it through. This is just silly.

To me the trailer just felt like some parody, even though it's supposed to be serious. It's that ridiculous.
Where do you get the impression that "it's supposed to be serious"? I really don't get it, and in all honesty I cannot see how anybody would look at that trailer in a serious way. The tone, the scene, the camera and the comment have nothing "serious" about them. Maybe I can see it more because it has been my work in the past, I don't know, but really for me it's obvious that's a joke (with naturally the "serious" bonus of having a set of armor, but that's secondary to the formal intent).
If there's a thing that that trailer is not is "serious", as the other item trailer of DS2.
I guess it is more ridicolous the fact that you want to look a thing seriously when it obviously isn't. So, in fact, what you felt was the right thing, not the logical assumption, as it is many times the case.

This is very, very silly.
OMG people, it's really so difficult to understand that trailer? It is a joke, a pun. It is intentional the "silliness" of the armor, its being out of place with the setting of the game. It is done voluntarily to look "silly". This is the pun and the joke. It's one of the standard of sarcams, taking a thing out of context to make it look silly and hilarious,
What is so difficult to understand?
I really don't get why you people insist on judging on a serious base an obvious joke. Next time I would take "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and judge it as a tragedy and determine the silliness of an ass in that context, if I were you.
Makes the same sense.

Anybody who will get Dead Space 2 for just the armor will be awarded the Darwin Award of Conscious Customers.

Already happening with those that are looking at the trailer as a tragedy.

Wow. That's totally hilarious. I'm laughing myself to death over this ingenious cross-promotion now. How do they come up with this ****? Comedy gold indeed. Game of the Year confirmed!Amioran wrote...

It's just a joke. It is not meant to make you ****** in your pant laughing, for this is much better tragedy and reality. Sarcasm is not made for this.
However problems arises when you take sarcasm as a serious thing, and you make a fool of yourself.

Yeah because it takes so long to create a piece of armour that was already in Dead Space.Dubya75 wrote...
Its a shame really, Bioware could have spent the time and resources on giving us a video that's actually got something to do with DA2...like a demo of the character creator for example, but instead we get this...WHATEVER!

yeah...uhm....different engines, different armor design, making a simple character creator demo video would have arguably been simpler.
now back on topic, I like how these "add ons" are called "rewards" to the fans.
so, uhm, I love Bioware, but in no way I am a BDF card holder........so this begs the question, what kind of reward is it? a reward to the fans who spend another 60$ on a totally unrelated game? If so it's not a reward at all.....hell Dead Space is not even developed by Bioware. I mean I would understand the whole blood dragon armor in ME2/DAO....I do, same studio, same genere, same fanbase and Bioware raises awareness for their new project. But this?
unless of course it's because Gaider wrote the bulk of DS2 in which case I'd actually be ok with it

The thing that pisses me off the most about this, though is the fact that I won't get to use the armor - I play Bioware games exclusively on PC, and was planning to buy DS2 on PS3 for extraction

I bought a crap ton of Dr. Pepper when Mass Effect 2 came out just so I could get enough codes to purchase all the neat in-game items. Mind you, I hate Dr. Pepper, but it was a $6 investment at most.
An entire game, though, is just asking too much. I don't fault EA or Bioware for throwing this fun little extra in, it just makes me a bit sad in the pants that I can't participate because I'm too chicken to play Dead Space.
I know how you feel.

The only thing I want to know is if the code is universal for all platforms. My boyfriend will be getting Dead Space 2 for the Xbox but doesn't play Dragon Age nearly as much as I do, so I plan on snitching it from him. However, I plan on playing DA2 on my PC. Will the code still work?
