Why don't devs answer topics and participate here like in the Dragon Age forums?

Just an honest question, I don't mean any offense, but does anyone else notice this? Devs regularly participate and interact with members in the Dragon Age forums, answer questions, explain things in the game, talk about Dragon Age 2 all the time.

The topics with the "Bioware" symbol under each are numerous compared to the Mass Effect forums. I just wish Bioware could talk to us about ME...especially ME3. Not a lot, just at least as much as the DA forums, right =/ ?

Because it's an ego-trip hellhole here.

Because Dragon Age 2 is the next game that Bioware is releaseing. Because of that they are going to pay more attenton to the DA forums in general.

Oh please, this is nothing compared to the DA forums. That place is crazy with antagonism, although it's died down a bit now. Yet the devs there are very happy to answer questions and put people in there place.

I know what you mean. At the old forum they'd talk all the time.

I also understand way they might not do it as much here. Like Mr. Kusy said there is a massive excess of egos here.

Mainly because the marketing campaign for ME3 hasnt started yet. That means that the amount of stuff the devs can talk about is really really limited. It also limits possibilities of leaks and mishaps before the game release.

Or, it could depend on the dev personnalities. Some might enjoy discussing with fans on forums. They arent afraid of some trolls and the general unpleasantness of forums. Others might not find any pleasure in such an interaction.

It's a game that's been out for over a year, it's understandable they don't comment much here (they definitely read here though - some anyway).

I suspect when ME3 is closer to launch and the ME3 forums come up, they will chat a fair bit with us in there.... you can safely bet that after DA2 launches, their participation in those forums will decline significantly.... it's par for the course.... they'll watch / observe for feedback and such but not likely chat as much as they do now.

Most likely it's a whole diffrent team of developers. And maybee because ME developers know that half of the community will flame whatever they say because of the recent retcon front. Like for instance the very recent podcast where the first reply was "you treat us like shit BioWare, we want Ash and Keiden or else you suck" from someone.

Im not surprised,I miss the old bioware forum days where they popped up alot more often.Perhaps like others said when a ME3 forum pops up,

I wasn't talking about someone saying that in the podcast, I was talking about the random fallout it suddenly caused here.

This thread is doomed.

But as to the question, I think it's just a personality difference on a wide scale. The DA devs actually like wading into the arguments from time to time, the ME devs don't. Not sure why. Could be that both teams came from different eras of devlopment to start off and thus have different levels of tolerance for forum fair.

it's likely that the Mass Effect development team just doesn't have anything to talk about yet. Dragon Age II is nearly done and is the next major release, so of course we're going to talk about it more. Traditionally, we also have more Dragon age developers who enjoy participating in the forums more.

Between the daily me1 vs me2 threads, the OH MY GOD me2 RECONNN threads and daily me2 console wars threads there is no reason for developers to ever post here. The developers do not have to justify themselves to the vocal members of the community.

a) Because they already have your money for ME 2.

B) Because they probably don't like to read all the complaints about ME 2.

c) Because they know that they would lose most arguments about the flaws of ME 2.

d) Their contracts might prevent them from discussing certain topics anyway.

a) Truth-but not necessarily

B) Truth

c) Sort of wrong.  No arguments can be won or lost by anyone given the subjectivity of these forums

d) Truth

This is the right answer. This forum is too hostile agains Bioware. Nothing good comes from it, when disagreement is there.

seriously, they don't have to justify me2 to pessimistic folks like bjdbwea.
