Why don't devs answer topics and participate here like in the Dragon Age forums?

you act like everyone on these forums are out to get the devs. Your gonna have the trolls and kids that are angry about everything in life but if we can deal with it then they can too, if this is the case then they need thicker skin. If we are talking with the devs and someone starts flaming at the dev more than likely everybody is gonna take the devs side.

Then there's posters like you who argue with people in every thread you post in and make it a nasty place to visit.

I don't think arguing is the problem, because disagrements allways exists. It's more problem how arguing is done, like how someone says something.

I my self have cause some problems here in community, because I'm pretty active, direct and I don't change my mind easyly. Also I often look from different perspective than someone else. People don't like what I say, because they disagree with it. How ever, biggest problem happens when others opinions starts to annoy and it cause negative angry response back. It's really hard to write allways with respect and polite way, when try to express different opinions as disagreement. There is so much learning in simple forum communication. I don't think this internet anonymous make it's any easyer. People aren't like this when they are face to face situations.

How ever, more polite, respect and constructive matter we can write, better this forum is for everyone.

i think there is only three forums iv'e ever posted in and argued. So stop making false accusations.  I'm always gonna state my opinion and there is always gonna be someone who disagrees with it and that goes for anyone. Sry

Here is an nice example how you trow a bone and avert any criticism:
" I don't blame developers for preferring to stay away."

And then some fans star accusing each other and derail the topic; and alas it still works

Look its very simple, this board has mods  if some, a  few, a fragment... doesnt play by the rules and hinder  the talk  its NOT the community fault the rules are not reinforced
Ditching this on the community as an excuse for lack of ME dev team  interest is frankly very sad.

That's just it, the devs are under no requirment to talk to us, but you claim they are. You act like they have to jump to your desires because you post on a forum, they don't. They don't have to defend their design decisions if they do not wish to, they don't have to post on these forums if they don not wish to. NO fan is entitled to anything from bioware or it's devs. It's nice when they talk, its fun to ask questions, but if the general atmosphere on a board become hostile (which has happened) then why should they bother.

When anything a dev posts is torn apart, dissected and used to prove whatever agenda or belief a fan has (True or not) It might just be time to say nothing.

What's really sad is that what dev interaction has occured is continually mared by people who make demands/acqusations or thinly vieled threats. You reap what you so, and as a community we have not made this board the most welcome place for devs to post.

Nohvarr its called community management and public service, every major game dev company has it.
If thy didn't have to thy wouldn't do it, since a lot of content here is covered by the media
I believe Who demonstrated this, with the whole game sex issue that fast went on the front pages of many gaming sites. And this my dear forumite is called marketing (or bad one, in that case)

And i tell you, a month  before the ME3 date thy will be loud...all the sudden, since well thy dont need to but... then there is a thing called PR. I can see Chris sticky spaming every major game preview, interviev out there, just dont be naive

Because I wasn't accusing you arguing. I was commenting someone else post what was accusing you arguing. My post was comment that arguing is normal, because that's what disagreement is.

Well its probably a combination of two things.

1: ME3's release is a lot farther off so they're allowed to say less. Non-disclosure agreements and all.

2: While the majority of the forums don't seem to dislike the devs, the few that do are very vocal. Hurt someones feelings and it takes a while to heal. They will eventually, and then someone will be an arse to them again.

One this subject

"Sorry to interrupt here, Whereto, but I wish people would quit using this as a justification for demanding things from developers, because it is not true. I, for example, am paid by my employer, BioWare. I am paid regardless of whether you buy the game or not. You, the person who buys the game, do not give money to me directly, nor are you automatically made a shareholder of the developer or the publisher. buying a product we offer for sale does not make you our boss. i just needed to clarify that. thank you."

Couldn't agree more, its not BioWare you're paying when you buy the game. Its the retailer, and to a lesser extent, EA.

I think the devs will be more active in the forums when it's getting close to D-day.

Firstly because most of the devving is done so they get more time to post here.

Secondly because everything concerning the game at that point is pretty much set in stone so forumites can argue against design choices (even in the cases where complains can be valid) and the devs can say 'Sorry, we're pretty much done and we're not gonna change it now.'. I mean, would you rather hear the complains about your choices earlier in the development process or later when you're pretty much done?

That's a fair synopsis. Wait until the gameplay trailers from E3, GDC, other miscellaneous conventions, etc., and feedback will be more desired then. Until then, well...

I doubt feedback on in-game footage will actually make a difference. At that point, the design usually is set in stone.

Dev dept. =/= PR Dept.

If a dev posts here, they do it on their free time.

I am always amazed at how hostile and opinionated people get over games. For instance, if I didn't like a game, I wouldn't play it again or even bother talking about it. It's funny how many people who seem to hate ME2 spend so much of their free time bashing it. Isn't that some psychological condition?

Accusing? Three weeks of membership in three fights in three threads.   And, if "you're entitled to your opinion" is so important to you than you must understand that equally I am entitled to mine as well. It works both ways.  (and Lumikki you're actually a nice forums person and I don't  consider you to be in the same category as the people who manure all over this place.)

Go see what trolls went and did in the Mac Walters podcast announcement forum and then you decide if that was in any way appropriate. It goes way beyond "arguing is normal". It was downright rude and disgusting, with multiple insults to Mac, Chris, Stanley, and whoever else, and it was over a lack of ME1 character presence (having nothing to do with the thread) and violent demanding of such presence in a future DLC.

and I agree with everything Nohvarr said.

I agree Mc Hammer. If you hate mass effect 2 so much roll out and stop complaining.I'm pretty sure Chris and his goonies have added more "RPG" elements to ME3 and that the Vs DLC is coming soon.No need to panic boys`and girls.

/THREAD, people

Has anyone thanked Mr. Woo for his time?

Thank you, Mr. Stanley Woo, for your time.

You are attempting to squeeze the precious few drops of reason from this place, as fruitless an endeavor as squeezing water from a stone.

By my current post I just want to say that I'm grateful to you Mr. Woo and to your colleagues for efforts, time and patience, and want to add that you have some fans on this forums, who remember and value all the great experience delivered by Bioware's fantastic games when they write their posts on this forum.

Thank you again.
