I would pretty much use topsidersd honor which is the best sword with the skin of the wardens longswords hated starfang looked stupid.errant_knight wrote...
That was my favorite sword, too. I hope it returns. I never used Starfang, finding that model stretched credibility too much, and only used Maric's sword because of it's history and in a limited way. Never used saw swords.... Totally wtf for me.

I have kukri that is similar in design to those. The saw sword has wider blade than it but they work on the same principle.errant_knight wrote...

The "saw" part is either misleading or they are refering to a saw on the spine of the blade. The heavy, curved shape allows it to chop through a target in the same way an axe would.errant_knight wrote...
Really? What is the principle behind it, because I don't see the point unless you're trying to saw through bone...?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcata < Thats an older, real world, weapon that's similar.

Interesting link! Now that looks like a functional weapon. I never used the saw sword, but the serrations appeared to be on the cutting side.Carcharoth42 wrote...

they were good in DAO, but sometimes I thought the lightening runes or the enchanted ones looked kind of weird...

Any chance for believable two handers?

If they realy are on the blade, that would make the weapon impractical. Serrations are for cutting fibrous materials like rope, cloth or even muscle tisue. The problem is that this is a chopping tool despite gameplay limitations that force all long swords to use the same animations. Serrations would get caught on chainmal making the weapon useless. If the serations are on the back, then whoever invented the blade may have been trying to make a multi-purpose tool.errant_knight wrote...

A saw sword would never be useful against armored enemies

Yeah, that was basically the sword I used on my S&S warrior. Sure it was lousy for tanking but it looked good/practical as far as 1 hander swords look.SteveGarbage wrote...
The Oathkeeper/Duncan's Sword model was my favorite, but the Warden Longsword is fantastic too. Totally would love to see more simple swords in the game. Yusaris was a great looking two-hander, too.

Claymores with skulls and spikes and flames that make it go faster by altering the laws of physics in ways we mere mortals can't comprehend?RedRoo wrote...
If Hot Rod Samurai (everyone's favourite catchphrase) is any indicator, I don't think your weapon-realism ideal is going to be realized with DA2.

It's called WWWAAAGGHH power. If I paint a sword red then it's automatically faster then everything else because things that are red are always faster.Carcharoth42 wrote...

Awesome but impractical, like any other wall hanger. At least it isn't a giant squid on a stick. Being killed by that is just humilliating.RedRoo wrote...
