And it gave you a handy place to grab when bashing their head in with the pommel. Not many people realize that every part of those swords were used as weapons.Aermas wrote...
Claymores come with a leather grip or unsharpened section in front of the crossguard it was used as a fulcrum to maneuver the blade faster, you know... instead of swinging faster than humanly possible...<_<

Oh, okay, then I withdraw my objection as to functionality. I still don't admire the look.thegreateski wrote...
Negative. They were on the back.errant_knight wrote...
Interesting link! Now that looks like a functional weapon. I never used the saw sword, but the serrations appeared to be on the cutting side.Carcharoth42 wrote...
The "saw" part is either misleading or they are refering to a saw on the spine of the blade. The heavy, curved shape allows it to chop through a target in the same way an axe would.errant_knight wrote...
Really? What is the principle behind it, because I don't see the point unless you're trying to saw through bone...?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcata < Thats an older, real world, weapon that's similar.

I just hope that there is more models and that there are more powerful warden longsword skins

I'm pretty much okay with one or two simple models that I like. I tend to use those for the whole game anyway, and not use powerful equipment out of preference. I'm thinking that DA2 will likely not be as challenging as DA:O, and since I have to do things to make the game harder now.... Probably not going to want powerful weapons much.

I would still like a more powerful sword as the only warden sword that was strong was topsiders honor.errant_knight wrote...

Well, more powerful than Topsider's honor, sure. Maybe something along the lines of the Keening blade, but when they get as powerful as Starfang, that's a bit too much for me. On the other hand, that can be balanced by wearing less powerful armor.
