I agree, they are. followed very closely by german industrial to my ears (there's something about the language that just makes it work better then english)
hub turned me onto Slayer and bands like that, when we met, I was more of a Metalica and Iron Maiden sort of gal, but I've noticed that on many occasions, heavier metal has some of the best lyrics.
Never been ashamed of my geekiness and people who obviously have geek tendencies but deny them make me somewhat sad, but it helps that my highschool experience was...unique. Being a geek in my high school was normal. we traded books to each other, sometimes litterary stuff, sometimes sci-fi or thrillers, played computer games during lunch period, shared our lunches smoggesboard style, and being in a school band or making the cut for some reginal science competition was actualy concidered cool
P.S. hair choices never really bothered me, seeing as Shepard is millitary, they woudln't have a lot of "pretty" choices due to regulations. Viking rumors nonwithstanding.
hm, German industrial...I'm kinda guessing that you are referring to Rammstein which is funny because they just played Madison Square Garden a few weeks ago, supported by Combichrist. w00t. First time back in the US ever since they got arrested for performing Bück Dich in the 90s xD and then they only do one show. Kinda lame if you ask me but oh well....
I never liked Metallica to be honest. I've seen them live though because Slipknot once opened up for them and I only went there to see the 9. Other than a few good songs, I just can't get into Metallica. And if you ask for my personal opinion, I think Slayer has stopped making good music a good while ago. Just like Motörhead they should go retire. They don't even look like they are enjoying being on stage anymore, which I find sad.
I've stopped being a geek when being a geek became something cool and all of a sudden everyone was a geek. Now they are all trying to top each other off with their geekiness and that's something I'm running away from as far as possible. There's more to life than silly labels and stereotypes. But that's just my personal opinion though.... xD
