How do you want Shepard to die if there was an option to get him killed in ME3?

ME2 only offered us one way to kill Shepard and that involved him pretty much sacrificing himself so the survivors of the suicide mission could escape. Hopefully ME3 gives us more than one scenario for Shepard's death. if it does, how would you want Shepard to die? Personally, I'd like to have the option of getting him killed in a fair 1 on 1 fight with someone in ME3. Its hard to imagine anyone being able to kill Shepard fairly but who knows? Maybe it could be some super powerful alien posssessed by Harbinger. Seriously, i think it would be pretty kickass to see the final cutscene with Shepard trying as hard as he can to win but he just can't do it. He gets his arse handed to him and dies a very painful death, like getting literally torn to shreds or something.

Not like Boba Fett, but like Robot Chicken's Boba Fett describes.

Basically like a Badass Mofo man, taking out way more than he should be able to.

Also, like Halo's Spartans do in the books, take a crap load of damage but still fight on. That would be awesome.

I don't want an ending where you have to sacrifice yourself. Maybe it can be an option, but if he must do so I want to be able to steal the last words of Sgt. Johnson from Halo.

"Send me out with a bang."

"Didn't somebody else say that before dying sir?"

"Shut up."

Not dragged out please. Lord of the Rings took up too much time with the death scenes, so let's avoid that.

I wouldn't mind an ending like red dead redemption where my shepard is standing between the bad guys and his fleeing crew and takes alot of bullets while still standing and breathing heavily.

You could also die in ME2 if you were stupid... horny... curious enough to go all the way with Morinth.

I would love to see a paragon ending where Shep has to die to defeat the reapers. Would make for a great ending of the trilogy.

Something similar to Terminator 2 finale would be my choice.

Shepard, alone on the Normandy, sends the ship through a mass relay and directly through Harbinger.

This. But there better be a decent ending too....self-sacrificing endings are so incredibly overdone.

Depends on what you consider decent ending, but yeah, they are overdone.

Shepard death is overdone.

In ME1, they pulled a "the commander is dead! Oh noez! HOLY **** SHEPARD IS ALIVE!! YAY!!" moment.

In ME2, they kill Shepard at the beginning only to resurrect him minutes later and have his death a possible consequence for screwing up the suicide mission.

But if Shep-death must be in ME3 i want it to be optional.

If it must happen then i want them to take inspiration from Halo: Reach

Old age, on a bed, surrounded by little blue children, Liara holding Shepard's hand while our beloved commander passes into the void.

(yeah, I'm a cheesy sap)

Voice from the void: Admiral Shepard has been recovered. Jesus project will proceed as planned.

...and this episode, Shepard gets 'Jesus of the Week' for rising herself from the dead!

No death, Shep will just end up in some nebulous state of limbo to be used at a later date (maybe). Then, instead of ME4 we'll get a Mass Effect MMO that takes place centuries in the future and we have no idea what happened to the characters from the first games.

We'll pay 15 bucks a month while EA dangles a carrot in front of us of maybe getting a Shepard storyline at some point with a content patch.

BTW all in good fun, I'm not bitter or trashing The Old Republic.

Him and Joker on the Normandy piloting straight towards a massive reaper fleet packed to the brim with WMD's and one hell of an explosion.

Yeah, that was definitely the coolest post-credits I've ever seen. And not unlike what I suggested above...

Sacrificing self to save others =/= wrong thing.  Quite the opposite in fact.

Why does he have to die? It must be one of the lamest things when the hero dies for other's sins or something stupid and cliché like that.

If there is a death, I would want it to be Shepard using EDI to hijack and self-destruct a Reaper in the middle of the enemy fleet or some other type of, "If I don't do this, then all is lost," death.

Same as the BioShock good ending, except blue little hands at the end.

Or Shepard getting blown to pieces while <insert method of beating Reapers here>.

Or saving your LI.

With Shepard standing on top deck of Normandy, sword out, facing off against Harbringer with the words "Hello beastie!".

Yes, I went with the Jack Sparrow approach. At least I didn't bring in Brian Blessed, oh wait too late...
