Hi all,

I have a banned 360 and i have gone and bought a clean 360 slim (4gb) I have learnt my lesson and i'm staying clean now! However my mass effect 2 save files have corrupted :( I was like 30 hours through my second playthrough as well! I heard you can use con flag remover and resigner but apparently it does not work with game saves with EA as they are HDD locked. Is there any other way of getting it onto my new 360? My mass effect 1 game save is fine so the only other alternative is to re-import my mass 1 character and start all over again. But i would rather not do that!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I absolutely love mass effect and bioware in general and I have bought the collectors edition for mass 2, and completed the first one like 4 times lol its just a shame my save file is corrupted! Roll on mass 3! Image IPB

Hi CitadelSurfer, it may be possible to do it using a PC but i don't know the detail. All i know is : you can't transfer ME1/ME2 saves from one HDD to another with the normal deplace/copy option of the Xbox 360. For your corrupted save game, are you sure the save are corrupt or it is the gamertag ?

SOLVING CORRUPTED

Solving the corrupted problem would be a start and there two way to do it :

1)  If you're gamertag is corrupted and in that case all your save are automatically corrupted.
           >>> delete the old gamertag and recover it on a Memory Unit/USB Key and use it on your banned 360 to at least uncorrupted the save game.

2) If it's your save game that are corrupt but not your gamertag...
          >>> Well sorry, at that point I had give up on trying to fix them and erase all before starting again ME1/ME2.

SAVE TRANSFER (if using the same gamertag)
For the save transfer, the only thing i could think of is : using a Memory Unit/USB Key so you could put a working save game of your character on it and after use it on your new Xbox Slim. But for that you need to still use the same gamertag.

1- In the save screen. Use the storage options, when you save i think its with the (Y) button. It should allow you to choose the Storage Device you want to use.

2- Save to the USB key/Memory Unit and after that you should have a playable save game on your USB/MU. If the save was not corrupted.

3A- Play from the USB/MU
OR
3B- Load the save game and choose again the Storage Device to make a new save but this time you want to use the Slim device once you have load the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Hope this will help you.

Those solution already help me a lot i got hundred of times Corrupted Gamertag issue and twice real corrupted saves game on legit X360. Only thing is i had not banned 360 so i don't know if it will work for you.

Cheers for the advice dude. My gamertag is not corrupt as i recovered it on my new slim. However the gamertag I have on my flagged/banned one is corrupt. So I think it associates it with the gamertag and as i transfer it over via usb, it automatically corrupts it. I'm going to try the con flag/resigner solution and see if that works.

The weird thing is though is that I can play my mass effect 1 saves on my new slim with my recovered gamertag fine. Its just when I try load mass 2 it says its corrupt. I'll keep you posted what happens!

Cheers!

Yep. if you use a save corrupted by your gamertag you should be able to uncorrupted it with the one you recover. Only thing is : if you save while your gamertag was actually corrupted, the save game will stay corrupt most of the time.

This could be the issue with your ME2 saves, but to be sure of that you need to delete the corrupted gamertag and use a MU/USB with your gamertag uncorrupted on your flagged/banned 360. It should allow you to see which saves are still working or not.

You can even test them on your flagged 360 once the corrupted gamertag is off and after you will know which one
work. After that, you just need to transfer them to your Slim with the USB/MU)

Well I have tested them on my flagged xbox and they work fine with my gamertag. And i can even go online. I will be banned at some point but not just yet. The thing is though if i move my gamertag from my slim to my flagged xbox as soon as i put it back over it will corrupt. it's a joke!

Yeah it corrupts straight back when i put it onto my slim. I think so too mate looks like microsoft has had me on this one! But if theres a will theres a way i'm sure! Also I read on a few forums here that EA's saves now are locked to the HDD that it plays on. So it shows corrupted on other HDD's. Which personally I think is ridiculous as it means you can't play your games on other peoples xbox's. I remember doing that a lot with ps2's but no more!

I don't know if you have try this but might as well ask... In that way the saves should not have problem with the HDD because each time you save them you are making a new HDD lock for this save.

1) Put your MU/USB on your flagged X360 with your gamertag uncorrupted
2) Load a save and make a new save on the MU/USB
3) Delete the gamertag from the MU/USB (so it doesn't become corrupted)
4) Recover Gamertag from your Slim (if you don't have your gamertag on your Slim)
5) Put your MU/SUB
6) Load the save from the MU/USB
7) Make a new save from the loaded game into the Slim

You should be able to recover your gamertag without problem. I think the worst that could happen would be Microsoft locking your recovery for the day or for some hours. But I never heard of something like that so i dont think so.

Also one time i got a big problem with Gamertag corrupted issue and i think i recover at least six time before having my gamertag to work. note to myself do not install mass effect one because it was not design to be install on HDD. I don't know if anyone try this but mine just result into an automatic Corrupted Gamertag B)

Thats alright then! Just need my bleeding mas effect save man I know I will play it again before mass effect 3 comes out but I wanted to play through it twice completely. And haven't done so yet!

And that is well strange! I had mine installed to my hard drive the entire time I played it. And i completed it like 3 times haha. Well I will be playing it on my slim and its well quiet so I won't bother installing it just in case.

Right Imperium Alpha I freaking did it!! Haha! Thought I would pass the message on to you as I am never on here really. Basically I hooked up my 120gb HDD which has my flagged gamertag on and all my flashed games and what not. Once it was up and running I opened it up using "Xport 360".

In Partition 3 I found the two saves I wanted. the first was my first playthrough, the second my second playthrough blah blah. Anyways I copied the 2 saves to my desktop.

Then opened "BatchConflag remover" This removed teh flags and created a backup copy of the two saves too. Then I ran both the files on hash blocker. Then put them back onto xport 360 and overwrote the two corrupted profiles.

Then using my transfer cable i plugged it into my slim with my 120gb HDD attached. I logged into live on my slim and then transferred the two saves. where it normally says the owner it said "corrupted save". So i was thinking it wouldnt work.

However once it was put onto my slim i took the transfer cable out and put mass 2 in. And hey presto I got them both working ;)

Thanks so much for your help mate it was greatly appreciated! I spent so many hours on this amazing game!

x peace and love x

Thanks for the info! I was able to use Consaver to rewrite the consoleID so the saves would work on my new slim. I still don't understand why a transfer cable doesn't change that information when it is transferred to the new system.
