By the time dragon age 2 releases, it will have been in development for less then a year and a half. Most major releases take 2-3 in development...so I pose the question to you all. Do you think DA2 has been rushed?

 yes

Before it came out, I felt the same way. Like it was being rushed, especially considering the volume of games that they have in the works that are espected to release soon.

And even more so now after playing it, it feels empty, it in no way has the amount of depth that Origins had. Don't get me wrong its still a great game, but it had the potential to become even greater

Oh really? So it was an intentional design decision to ship the game so untested that the consoles didn't get auto-attack, and the CONSTANT re-using of house and cave interiors was just someone's brilliant design decision?

Yeah I bet.

Adding my vote for rushed. Did the cameos make anyone else miss the depth and emotional response of your party members?

It was either extremely rushed or very, very lazy.

And some of the decision were just plain bad decisions.

Rushed, and corners were clearly cut.

Bioware shall now adopt Valve time; Dragon Age: Episode 3 coming, uh... sometime...

Circumstantial evidence but if you look at the number of game stopping bugs between Origin, Awakening and DA2, DA2 is the worst out of the three. I doubt Bioware QA department suddenly became incompetent so they probably DID rush the game out of the door.

Personally, I've had to start over on two characters who ran into DIFFERENT game stopping bug.

Hard to say if it was rushed or made cheap. Neither of which is desirable.

Reading all the happy ''Bioware can do no wrong'' believers from 3months ago's unbriddled optimism makes me laugh SO hard after the facts.

How do you feel now drones, choking on tears yet?

Personally, I would consider this rushed. The development time was quite short and the product itself feels unfinished. I don't see as much evident care, consideration, depth, or polish as I did with ME and ME2, NWN, or Origins.

Did BioWare ever make any of it's own sequels until EA? ;)

Btw, if DA2 wasn't rushed... then why the inferior product?  Oh DA2 was good compared to 90% of all other games out there, but I hold BioWare to a higher standard.  Perhaps in the future, BioWare should go back to contracting their sequels out to Obsidian so they have someone to blame.

What's your definition of "rushed"?

Rushed - not enough time taken to make the item top quality.

So you actually meant yes when you said no.
