I have to disagree that ME2 killed the series. The problems I have w/ the game are too numerous to count, but I still enjoyed it and it did set up the possibility for a great final game.

I agree to that too, ME2 didnt kill the series, it had its problems. But in the end it is an enjoyable game and with the end they leave us with, we know the next one is going to have a big bang.
I also think some of people who dont like ME2 to the core expected something else to happen.

I hate ME2 to the core for the design overhaul, but I think the main story behind it (even though its presentation suffered due to said overhaul) was good and consistent with whatever the writers had planned when they were setting out.

Namely, I think Shepard was always destined to go MIA and be brought back to life and co-opted by Cerberus.

And the whole Collector angle was planned ahead too, with the major revelation about the real role of Sovereign still coming in ME3.

Not "something" else, anything else. I would never have expected ME2 to turn out they way it did, that's not to say it was bad, but with a few story tweaks it's pretty much ME1 all over again, just with the focus on the characters rather than the plot.

Mass Effect 2 is a perfect starting point to enter the series. :P

I say it was a good game, but i didnt like the character focus, I wanted more missions like the origional that were all about stopping the reaper's plot, not spending 75% trying to solve everyones daddy issues.

Don't get me wrong, when I was playing ME1 I was like "I would like some more character developement and some missions ment to recruit like liara" but I didnt mean make it the central focus. Mordin I understood, you need him to get rid of the keeper swarms. Grunt I understood, you wanted to ask Okeer about the collectors and he was just a nice little bonus. Legion, he is found in a reaper while you are trying to get the IFF. But the rest are just a grocciery list of pretty cool guys that you might want to have around. I think if they just had a better reason that merged with the story, like Garrus was under Specter training or was a Specter investigating the reapers or finding Tali because you were investigating dark matter as well.

As for the loyalty missions, they should have just been side mssions and not that important to the survival mission. Or if they wanted to keep those as important, maybe give it to some people, like how Garrus and Wrex were the only ones to get one in the last game. The loyalty missions just seemed to make the game longer then it really needed to be.

But then again, I suck at english and these guys are profetional writers.

While the topic at hand is one mostly based upon opinion with a sprinkling of fact, one thing is for certain.

I think we can all agree that Mangeo not playing Mass effect anymore will probably be a good thing.

The worst part is that you, OP, can apparently see in to the future to predict that nothing will be resolved in Mass Effect 3.

Actually I think it was originally going to be the Geth, but then it got a rewrite, possibly because of all the pro Cerberus/we want to work with Cerberus posts on the ME1 forums.

That sort of fits in with Bioware's habit of tossing in arbitrary dark plot twists. I could be specific, but would be giving spoilers to other games and that isn't covered by the spoiler warning for this forum.

Mangeo... I wonder if you had listened to your teachers instead of thinking you knew everything, you might have been able to form well structured sentances and  vastly improved your debating skills?

I'm at work on my lunch break. I could go out but then I'll most likely get sacked for doing that one too many times.

Alright no hard feeling although there is absolutely no reason to spend all your time on a forum insulting the OP.
