Although I keep waiting for a someone to say, "Mass Effect 2 is a perfect starting point to enter the series."
Mass Effect 2 is a perfect starting point to enter the series.

I say it was a good game, but i didnt like the character focus, I wanted more missions like the origional that were all about stopping the reaper's plot, not spending 75% trying to solve everyones daddy issues.
Don't get me wrong, when I was playing ME1 I was like "I would like some more character developement and some missions ment to recruit like liara" but I didnt mean make it the central focus. Mordin I understood, you need him to get rid of the keeper swarms. Grunt I understood, you wanted to ask Okeer about the collectors and he was just a nice little bonus. Legion, he is found in a reaper while you are trying to get the IFF. But the rest are just a grocciery list of pretty cool guys that you might want to have around. I think if they just had a better reason that merged with the story, like Garrus was under Specter training or was a Specter investigating the reapers or finding Tali because you were investigating dark matter as well.
As for the loyalty missions, they should have just been side mssions and not that important to the survival mission. Or if they wanted to keep those as important, maybe give it to some people, like how Garrus and Wrex were the only ones to get one in the last game. The loyalty missions just seemed to make the game longer then it really needed to be.
But then again, I suck at english and these guys are profetional writers.
