Struggling to find these, so far. I'm fairly sure I had a few of them, though I'm not sure if it was through manual resizing and fixing them up a bit, or if they started off that way. All of the original NWN tiles come in 512x512 sized textures (well, the majority), and I was wondering if the SoU and HotU ones are just secretly stashed away in some quiet corner. :)

These are in the HotU and SoU .erf files respectively in the texturepacks folder, or under Texture Packs in NWN Explorer. Unlike the vanilla tilesets, the tiles don't have a texture pack of their own, and are just thrown in with the other textures.

Sadly, I'm still having trouble finding them - the standard HotU/SoU "Main Data" packs under NWN Explorer seem to just contain 32x"/64x" textures, and the "xp1_tex_tpa" (which I assume to be the "high quality" textures, as the others are considerably smaller) seem to top out at 256x256 in the majority of cases. Specifically, I'm looking for the "tdr" tileset, but after 3-4 512x512 textures it seems to go back to being 128x128 or 256x256, unlike the originals.

Actually a lot of the textures for the Desert are actually that size. Stuff like the contents of market bins and the palm trees didn't get much lovin'.

Hum, I suppose it makes sense, but some of them are bricks textures, and things that seem like they should be a tad detailed. My only guess is they're not often used, or used on something small - I'll have to take a look, thanks. :)

Alternatively, you can check the vault for overriding textures in such sizes; these tend to be of much higher quality, and also of bigger resolution. Why, Six's works have lots of these.

I was after the originals to take a peek at editing them myself, really! Mainly due to the couple of textures in the Desert tileset that have always been hugely noticable to me:

The same textures that are so low-res in the desert tileset are sometimes found as 512x512 textures in other tilesets. You'll find the texture for the wooden bridge in the forest tileset and the wall texture for that gate in the rural tileset.

Precisely my point. And that's only taking the original tilesets into account. I have encountered high resolution versions of original textures in countless haks uploaded to the Vault. If you don't want any altered textures, contributors' packages are still the place to look for them. The downside? You would need to check lots and lots of haks! I did... I have no life...
