And? Origin's looked no better at launch than a few months before release. C'mon Dave, you're smarter than that.

Folks, simmer with the namecalling. I know we're all a bit strung out after being locked up in here together for so long, but let's hold it together.

Why the sudden "fanboy" name calling? Can't discuss reasonably, no-sir-ree.

No, but I've noticed a certain trend of people that approve Bioware's every whim and the other half is the haters. It's rare to find someone that lets logic come first

Origins, graphically, was completed long before the game was released. Dragon Age 2 was revamped, screenshots from months ago look horrible compared to the screenshots of today.

You can't compare them both.

I certainly can, to be honest the recent screens don't look much different to me at all. Visually the series has taken a step back imo. Which is big since Origins wasn't by any means that great visually either.

Ahem.

But yeah, I agree with whoever said the Emisarries look way too big. It's just weird.

That's debatable. Today's newly released screenshots from the German gaming website look rather poor (to some of us).

I don't really give a damn about graphics, but they keep japing about how graphics are better and they've probably spent a lot of time and budget on that unnecessarily since IMO the graphics in the Sebastian trailer look like absolute crap, far worse than DAO and incredibly low resolution

Then don't buy it. There, end of the conflict.

I'm honestly a bit confused as to why the cutscenes look as good as they do, even the up close combat and such, and then we have that Deep Roads scene that looks cut and paste. I mean, I'm perfectly fine with how "NWN"-y the graphics are. It was an adjustment, but now I'm okay with it.

The pics we have been fed over the months have been so inconsistent to me, that I'm not really sure how anyone can claim they know what it is going to look like come launch or if one is more legit then the other.

Exactly, DA:O wasn't a visual masterpiece but that didn't bother me. I enjoyed it alot. So we keep hearing about how awesome their new art style is, and how awesome the ridiculous flips are etc, yet every footage or screenshot so far show, the game looks pretty damn terrible to be honest.

And I've said, they look low resolution (especially Bianca, Varric's crossbow).

However compare them to these shots and there's a major difference.

This is true. But it's still a worry to see some screenshots looking so grainy/crappy in such a recent preview article.

I'm actually curious about whether quality of screenshots are more on the game itself or how well these companies do at taking screenshots and publishing them.  There's lots of different screen capture systems out there and I doubt they are all created equally.  Of course this isn't really DA2 related specifically.  I notice this a lot with many games.  One screenshot looks good, another bad in some weird pattern.  I wonder what screenshots would look like playing DA:O on one system but capturing them using in game capture, FRAPS, X-Fire, MSI Afterburner, etc. and see whether their qualities would be similar or vary greatly?
