Made me think of this.
Prior to Inception, that was the only Leonardo DiCapria film I'd ever seen.

Actually, it looks like the staff/sword thing Hawke uses in the Destiny trailer. At least, that's what I assumed it was.whinnie wrote...
your immersion is killed simply by your sword being in the ground for a second? how do you ever expect to be immersed in a game at all?s0meguy6665 wrote...

does nobody notice that hawke sticks his sword far into the ground???
I noticed. Didn't care too much.
how can it not bother people? it's a total immersion killer.

Sad thing is that it's almost impossible to make authentic medieval period helmets that don't look silly.Maria Caliban wrote...
I don't like the helmet. It does look better than many in Origins. I'm still going to make fun of the helmets.

so immersion doesn't matter anymore... lets just give darkspawn lightsabers because they look cool and change dragons into spaceships and make hawke sound like a p*ssy... oh wait he already sounds like one
...You do realize that, if the setting allowed for lightsaber-wielding darkspawn, there wouldn't be an immersion problem?
And I can hardly take you seriously when you say Hawke sounds too girly and weak for you. We've heard two lines from him.
In any case, combat animations happen quickly, and I don't pay particular attention. Sticking into the ground is no more immersion breaking than armor clipping, or those monolithic beasts they call two-handers, or the gushes of blood every creature erupted in DAO.

What? How?
Look at the parts of the staff in this pic.

Not even remotely close aside from a long handle.

I have to say, I didn't mind the Qunari redsign too much for whatever reason but I'm just not digging the Darkspawn resign. I wanted to like it, but it's not working. Other than that, I didn't have too many problems with the screenshots.

Basically that trying to make an authentic looking medieval style helmet that doesn't invoke mockery is a lesson in futility. They're more function than form, hence the duck beaked helmet or the ones that look like pasta strainers.
