Prior to Inception, that was the only Leonardo DiCapria film I'd ever seen.

does nobody notice that hawke sticks his sword far into the ground???

I noticed. Didn't care too much.

how can it not bother people? it's a total immersion killer.

your immersion is killed simply by your sword being in the ground for a second? how do you ever expect to be immersed in a game at all?

Actually, it looks like the staff/sword thing Hawke uses in the Destiny trailer. At least, that's what I assumed it was.

I don't like the helmet. It does look better than many in Origins. I'm still going to make fun of the helmets.

Sad thing is that it's almost impossible to make authentic medieval period helmets that don't look silly. Image IPB

so immersion doesn't matter anymore... lets just give darkspawn lightsabers because they look cool and change dragons into spaceships and make hawke sound like a p*ssy... oh wait he already sounds like one

...You do realize that, if the setting allowed for lightsaber-wielding darkspawn, there wouldn't be an immersion problem?

And I can hardly take you seriously when you say Hawke sounds too girly and weak for you. We've heard two lines from him.

In any case, combat animations happen quickly, and I don't pay particular attention. Sticking into the ground is no more immersion breaking than armor clipping, or those monolithic beasts they call two-handers, or the gushes of blood every creature erupted in DAO.

These screenshots are old as hell...right? And I assume that the picture with a lot of darkspawn is just Varrics exaggeration.

What? How?
Look at the parts of the staff in this pic.

Not even remotely close aside from a long handle.

Still looks worse than Origins, imo. The blood, textures and darkspawn redesigns are just awful..

Who is that mage in the second pic?

There are genlocks in the Facebook game, I'm kind of curious though about the total lack of genlocks so far in DA2 screenshots... would they put a creature in the Facebook "preview" game that wouldn't be appearing in the actual game? I mean, not counting unique characters.

Maybe the genlocks numbers have been retconed away too?

I have to say, I didn't mind the Qunari redsign too much for whatever reason but I'm just not digging the Darkspawn resign. I wanted to like it, but it's not working. Other than that, I didn't have too many problems with the screenshots.

I think they probably haven't taken that into account, maybe they just want to show those they think are best,i could be wrong though it just seems weird to pull out genlocks.

I knew there were bird people about! Now no one will be able to deny the truth! *shot'd*
Basically that trying to make an authentic looking medieval style helmet that doesn't invoke mockery is a lesson in futility. They're more function than form, hence the duck beaked helmet or the ones that look like pasta strainers.

Maybe they have merged female dwarves and genlocks to create a new species.... maybe they are the Fex!! conspiracy to cause lunicy on the forums!

I hope that genlocks will be in DA2. It feels weird if they'aren't here, genlocks are supposed to be at least in the same number (if not greater) of hurlocks.

I support the tomato-sauce blood, the cool shadows, the cartoon ogres, the oversized emmisaries, the fake fire and the silly helmets.

You haters are obviously part of an Afghan-communist plot set to overthrow Bioware and the entire US capitalist system...

Are they releasing old screenshots or are the textures really going to be that low res? That's horrible.
