I mean, in the ship, use whatever you want. kinda like a sexy costume for miranda, or totally naked for Jack, i don't know. but wtf? going into war without armor? from where do the shields come from? from where even the omnitool comes from?

Shepard is ok. he or she uses clothes on the ship, but armor on the battle field.
but what about garrus, miranda, jack, jacob, samara, tali and everyone else? (in some cases, like garrus, should he use clothes on the ship?)

Should ME3 do the trick?

Regards , m4walker.

They do wear armor on the battlefield...

And not letting people dictate what clothing your squadmates wear is a good idea imo. Makes the Normandy feel less like you're playing House.

Garrus is the only one with a full covering armor. Grunt too is very closed to that. Tali's envirosuit is studied to keep her alive in any possible adverse environment, but I won't mind to see it upgraded with some kind of external armory. Miranda, Jack, Jacob and the others? Needs armors. Definately. They can wear sexy pajagamas on the Normandy, but you can't fight an immortal race of sentient starship and they slaves with just a tight pajagama protecting you.

Lightly armored outfits wouldn't hurt. But for God's sake, give them something better than those sloppy and ugly breathers. They do nothing against vacuum.

Why not take away the ability to change their outfit's colour and their weapon loadout?
That's no different.
Also might as well take away the ability to level up squadmates as well.

Exactly, that's what i mean, but , miranda or jacob can keep those costumes if they want, but INSIDE the normandy.
And garrus, you go to the bathroom with your armor?

Well Garrus and Zaeed are already wearing armor both in and out of the ship.

Can Tali change suits? I guess her suit is her armor so she gets a pass.

Jacob's, Samara's, and Mordin's outfits are all sort of armor. They're kind of protected but they should probably have something better.

Grunts all set.

Thane and Kasumi are weird ones because there meant to be stealth/avoid combat kind of characters so see them in armor would be strange.

Miranda and Jack have no excuse. They should be wearing armor in battle.

Legion's made of armor. He's all good.

^^ Yeah, but for kasumi and thane: wearing a light armor won't hurt.

No! Bioware has made it obvious that the future of warfare involves booty shots and spandex.

Outdated and ineffective armor: Look how bulky and unattractive that armor is!

From the codex......

Combat hard-suits use a dual-layer system to protect the wearer. The inner layer consists of fabric armor with kinetic padding. Areas that don't need to be flexible, such as the chest or shins, are reinforced with sheets of lightweight ablative ceramic.

The outer layer consists of automatically-generated kinetic barriers. Objects traveling above a certain speed will trigger the barrier's reflex system and be deflected, provided there is enough energy left in the shield's power cell.

Armored hard-suits are sealable to protect the wearer from extremes of temperature and atmosphere. Standard equipment includes an onboard mini-frame and a communications, navigation, and sensing suite. The mini-frame is designed to accept and display data from a weapon's smart targeting system to make it easier to locate and eliminate enemies.

They should bring squad mate armor back. Would be nice if you could customize it like Shepard's in ME2 also. Armor would need to be reclassified to fit certain character types. Or the armor might actually look different on each character, which is an idea I really like, as they'd have different outfits by default anyway. Therefore Thane and Kasumi might wear something extremely light yet still protective and to Tali it might appear as suit upgrades on her suit.

Yeah, it would be great it all your squadmates had braincells and wore armor on missions. I don't give a crap what they wear on the Normandy, though.

I would say they should wear clothing that's suitable in a combat situation, not necesarily armour. So that means no high heels for example.

The Mass Effect Devs need to take a page from their Dragon Age counterparts and include a paper doll system. ME1 had it and it needs to return. Though with more options then ME1, since it was only a single piece of armor for every character.

Dragon Age has Light, Medium, Heavy and Massive armor. ME3 should have that too. Together with a stats system of some kind.

Basically, ME2 was a bit too dumb-ed down in RPG element needs a serious increase. ME1's fault was that the inventory system and also money was overabundant, but Dragon Age doesnt really have that issue with its mostly specific drops of items from set bosses or quest, and the random loot is rather minor.

Increasing the RPG element will not detract from the FPS element. And I think that the upgrade system needs to be scrapped. Nothing is more boring then finding a 10% increase in assault rifle damage. It is a increase in a weapon just because you need to have an increase.

It can be done better.

First.. YES! They need armor!
Second.. I'm pro choice. If some people want clothes.. hell it's not even that hard to put in as an option.
Conclusion.. All available armors/clothes, you have stored on Normandy, should be available to be equiped on ship AND off ship..
Now if you decide to have just clothes on, in a vacuum enviroment.. squad member or even Shep, if so dressed, simply die..

NOTE: Game shouldn't allow clothes to be equipped when you know you are boarding a derilict spaceship with no life support, but if you choose clothes for a mission and during that misssion you are, by some means, exposed to vacuum or any such, due to equipment, unsurvivable enviroment .. the person not suitably dressed, dies. Now that would be free choice with consequences.

NOTE 2: This is beyond easy to make.. very simple script and no more then a 10 minute job of implementing. Though i must admit i am talking from Fallout modding point of view, but the basics are the same. So DO IT! ;)
And if you actually do.. not that i'm expecting.. kudos to you devs.

Most definately!  But being able to customize the armor like ME2 would be really cool too

Either they should get armor, or Shepard should get a leather catsuit so I don't feel so overdressed compared to the rest of my squad (preferably something that shows off his ass).

I really don't care what they wear on board the ship....though the catsuit would bug me LOL

But when on missions I expect my squad to be geared up. At port is sort of a mixed bag and toggle helmets like in ME1 would make sense for such situations. When on some planets they should be wearing gear suited for the mission....I noticed they had on small masks to breathe with in ME2 but no suits?
