Due to changing my email over the past few years I now have my games spread over two accounts, is there any chance that I can have my older account cancelled and my purchases transferred onto my new email if I can prove ownership over the games involved?

Just for future reference, the Social Site Help Forum is where you need to post concerning this, not here...
But since you're here, I'd suggest contacting EA support (pref. Live Chat) and let them know whats up - you having access to both accounts should be all the proof they need, and just let them know which of the two accounts you want everything to be moved to...

Thanks, although I get the feeling EA will just laugh at me and tell me to go buy the games and DLC again but it's worth a try I suppose.

It actually happens surprisingly often - they're used to it so I wouldn't worry about it...
