Okay. Why just Miranda? If you're going to pick on her...

Jack - no top for all intents and purposes
Tali - wears a suit that realistically, if the shield fails, will be punctured, and she'll get a serious infection and die
Jacob, Thane, Kasumi all wear spandex or a material similar to that
Samara - couldn't show more cleavage if she tried

etc. You get my point. Its not just Miranda.

What? I agree with the over the top (it was tacky too) but sexist?

Yes it was very sexist!
Its not like Miranda had control over what she wore & looked like!

You really don't have any idea what sexism is do you?

Well thats okay. Anyway, her outfit was very... stereotypical, unnecessary, unwarranted, misplaced. But sexist? Thats like saying that men can't wear T shirts and shorts. Women can wear tight clothing and low cut tops, but it doesn't make it sexist. Sexism means discrimination against someone of a different (or the same) sex (gender), or the belief that one sex is superior to the other. Miranda wearing "girlish revealing clothing" isn't sexist lol.

It is sexist that the game designers dressed her the way they did even though she was in battle half the game!
I mean seriously you guys!?
They wouldnt have gotten away with this in 2007!

I think OP is confusing sexism with objectification.

For the record, I can't stand Miranda's outfit. It's over the top and silly, and prevents me from taking her seriously as a person. Also, I find her ass unappealing and wish she would stop flashing it at me.

How does that make it sexist? You still don't know what sexism is.

Miranda was easily seduced?  Certainly wasn't that way in my playthrough.

In fairness though, all Mass Effect romances are very easy to do and the pacing is far too fast to be realistic, but that's the constriction of the game itself, not the characters.

Yes they would have.  Matter of fact, they've been "getting away with this" since the early 90s.

Regardless, Miranda's outfit is not sexist.  Objectifying, maybe, but that actually fits with her character.

You're only the 2nd person I've seen saying that.  It's like they TRIED to make her look unappealing there, but people just see skintight suit and immediately think it looks good.  Ridiculous.

sexism - discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of the opposite sex
Maybe if you really stretched it, it could be seen as discriminatory, but besides that theres no inherent sexism towards Miranda in-game.
This thread is silly and OP is too.

ok, are you seriously trying to say that Miranda, the genetically engineered perfect woman having a great feminine body was....sexist? did I understand it correctly? furthermore, her outfit is not any tighter then basically everyone else working for Cerberus with the exception of pant cargo pockets, Jacob's outfit is just as skintight and btw? going into combat in nice, skintight (so it doesn't snag on anything), moves with your body clothes is damn comfortable. she has no cleavage showing and she's wearing a bra, so she has support. Samara's outfit is more sexixst then Miranda's if you're going to nitpick.

it would be nice if you could put her (and a few other characters) into a more appropriate space suit when you go into environments with no atmosphere, but hey, she's not the only one. gimme sensible helmets and shoes and I'll personally be happy.

edited to add.  it took about the same amount of time to get through Miranda's defences as it did through Ashleys.  She's just not as constrained by regulations and the need to fix her family reputation i nthe military as Ashley was.  Liara on the otherhand, would jump your bones the moment she met you, given an opportunity, but people are not complaining about HER :/

Ok so the whole game is sexist & vulgar!

Edited.  OP, really?  really?  are you saying you would prefer the outfits like those in bioshock, those heavy unwieldly suits? somethign that cannot allow you to distinguish between men and women?

do you have some sort of isues in regards to humanoid bodies?

do you think professional skiing outfits are sexist?  swimming suits?

nvm, nothing to see here, OP is just trolling for reaction, as he (or she?) is completely ignoring anything that undermines their claims (like Samara's or Jack's outfit, etc)

No he just doesn't know what sexism means. Please, OP, look it up, then come back and we can discuss this reasonably.

Ok did you even listen to Miranda talk about herself. The whole character is based around being created as perfect that was why her father created her. She say's it herself, her looks, intelligence, and biotic's were all engineered to give her an advantage and make her perfect.

A great & well writen excuse for it hugh...

Yes, Liara is the only female character who retains her dignity. Which makes her the best female character/LI. I think we can all agree on that and call it a day.

Seriously though, it's not just Miranda's outfit that's wrong about her. Her entire body is the worst Hollywood caricature of what a female person should look like. Her hair is creepy due to its near-realism. The only good things about her are her facial structure and voice acting, which really are just good things about Yvonne.

I think Miranda's hair actually looked unrealistic. It was just a blob that never moved around or anything.

Totally because it’s not like some woman actually like to dress in a way that makes them look and feel sexy. If a woman in a video game isn’t dressed in something baggy and unappealing it sexist!

I know your trolling but Im going to answer anyway cause I have nothing better to do.
Personally I don’t really have much of an issue with Miranda’s outfit. The whole confident and sexy thing is a large part of her character. Hell she is meant to have been genetically engineered to be “perfect” by her father. She is supposed to look like your typical perfect woman cliché, that’s the point.

I would prefer she put on some proper pants (purely out of personal taste, tights look odd to me), lost the heels (tho I suppose that makes her look more business like even tho heels +fighting = bad) and wore something sealed in hazardous environments or maybe even had some proper armor for battle but it’s not a huge issue and that is for practicalities sake and applies to allot of the squadmates not because her outfit offends me or anything.
I don’t get it when people go on about her boob window. her clothes are form fitting (as were the ME1 suits) and obviously designed to look good but her ****** are not on display or hanging out or anything like that. Her top is about as low as most of my plain t shirts and I dress more conservatively than most girls. The few ****** and ass shots were rather annoying and made me roll my eyes but at least they didn’t do it to often.

TBH the only outfit I really had issues with was Samara’s. Now that is a ridicules boob window and looked horrible IMO. Not realy sexist just stupid and screamed fan service. Thank you text mod because I hated looking at that.

Here's what I think: What Miranda wears is impractical. She's wearing HEELS in FIREFIGHTS. That makes no sense. But, you have to remember that ME2 was basically just fan service. And to be honest, Samara was worst. But Miranda's clothes are too tight and seems to be more or less made for eye candy. It would be better if Miranda put something else on. Every time she walks or gets an "interesting" camera angle I feel like I'm watching porn. Not that I'm complaining though.... ;)

On Liara being the best LI is just your opinion (even though she is one of the best in my opinion). I definitely cannot agree on that and call it a day.
